Where did I say that ? My point is that the PS3 fanboys need to stop saying don't buy a new 360 because of the RROD when that is not an issue anymore in the new units. Of course it does not help the early adopters. The early adopters whose consoles failed got a shitty deal.
Fair enough. I was just putting words in your mouth. It's a form of rhetoric I like to employ from time to time. My apologies for any offence caused

The ones who like to bitch and moan, anyway. I personally know FOUR different people who were way out of warranty..called and explained the situation very politely to Microsoft and were able to get their units replaced. I also know of whiney babies who called threatening to sue and drive to Bill Gates house personally and build a treehouse to live in..who got nothing.

For what?? RROD? ALL XBOX 360s are still covered under warranty. They didnt have to beg if this was the case. I had a 360 and sold it becasue it kept crapping out and it didnt support 1080P in the early versions without HDMI. I alot of people (not all) that got refurbed boxed after they got RROD will in fact get it again after MS gives up its warranty. Say what you want about Sony. I still have a PS2 that has run fine for 8 years. MY 360 lasted 1 year. Sure they may work now but how many people are willing to buy another 360 to replace their old model one?

They weren't covered by an extended warranty to begin with, if you had to get it replaced before they extended it for the rings, you weren't guaranteed a free replacement.
And I never said don't buy a 360 lol. But I sure as hell would like to have known about the shoddy hardware and insane failure rate before I dropped 400$ or whatever it was on it.

If mine were to go out, I would buy another one before I would buy a PS3. The PS3 just doesn't have enough exclusive games that interest me, and I have no interest in Blu Ray since I rent HD movies from XBox Live

Maybe I missed it, what games do you play on 360?
Hopefully not FPS, or else all the PC fanboys will crawl out of the woodwork and it'll be WWIII haha

Hmmm... what have I played lately...
360...
Gears of War
recently traded COD4
Conan
Rainbow Six Vegas
PGR4
Grid
Bully
GTA IV
Devil May Cry 4
Ninja Gaiden2
Mass Effect (didn't like the controls on 360, may try it on the PC)
A bunch of XBox Live Arcade games
On my PC
Crysis
Lord of The Rings Online
Team Fortress 2
I typically play more on the PC, but lately I have been on a 360 kick.

Do you play GTA online?
I can play one game on PS3 and have a great time but as soon as it ends and I have to go through the tedious process of finding a new game.. oh boy. Time to play something else.
Too bad Sony won't just blatantly rip off Live lol

Only if I can get some friends to play. Best multiplayer ever. I don't even care when I die because I am usually laughing too hard at how I died

1. RROD overheating issue has been resolved. Thats a bs argument considering the problems with the first round of PS3s as well.
2. 1080p was available via VGA adapter from the beginning and component. HDMI support was added later, that is correct. The only thing *NOT* supported was upscaling regular DVDs via component to 1080 due to our wonderful friends in Hollywood. 1080i = 1080p if you have a decent 1080p TV that knows how to properly de-interlace so don't start splitting hairs like you think you know something here you don't.
3. The RROD was fixed via new heat-sync that keeps the unit from overheating after being left on for long periods of time. Are you saying other companies don't swap out refurbs for repairs? This is SOP and don't try to make it sound like MSFT is doing something sinister.
4. How long did your first PS3 last? Or have you not bought yet while waiting for the early adopter/suckers to get the crap units.
5. How's that Killzone working out for you promised by Sony 2 years ago? LOL Talk about dishonesty in marketing.

Uhh yea just want I want to do go buy more useless junk. MOST TV's DO NOT support 1080P via VGA only through HDMI.

All 1080p TV's deinterlace.. Since all HD signals are currently 1080i. If you send a 1080i signal to a typical 1080p TV it will do a bit of upconverting but that certainly does not = 1080p. The 360 can only upconvert even with the HDMI to 1080p. Only a Bluray produces true 1080p signals. Of course even PS3 uses scaling on its games which I would say is a flaw on some game not in native 1080p resolution.. (Not DVD content)

This is not true. They replaced the chipset and had nothing to do with being left on for long periods of time

I own neither dumb frick I owned a Xbox 360 until it crapped out too many times. I have a PS2 that has run fine for 8 years. Something I dont think any 360 will do.

Oh lord here we go. Skipping the quotes because that just makes this worse.
1. Its the HEATSINK, you sony tool.
From the official Xbox team:
2.
Component does 1080i DE-INTERLACED to 1080p on a 1080p TV, moron..NOT UPCONVERTING. THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE. STOP BEING A SHILL FOR SONY

Nice use of the F-bomb. Makes you even more of a tool that you have to resort to profanity in this debate. Who's bitter here?
YOU FAIL.

From the official Xbox team:

How many times does an Xbox 360 unit have to be sent in and repaired before they will replace it with a completely new unit?
That's not how it works. You send in a broken box, you get back a working box (hopefully). So there is a rotating stock of the original units that get repaired and returned to service. Plus, they keep finding these cashes of launch units here and there and using them too. Didn't you hear during the holidays that bundles were found with units made in 06? Those were pulled back from the retail channel last spring when the new heatsink was done, and had the new heatsink placed on them and then put into the shipping flow like any other box.

It's Deinterlacing, Not Scaling
HD DVD and Blu-ray content is 1080p/24. If your player outputs a 60-Hz signal (that is, one that your TV can display), the player is adding (creating) the 3:2 sequence. So, whether you output 1080i or 1080p, it is still inherently the same information. The only difference is in whether the player interlaces it and your TV deinterlaces it, or if the player just sends out the 1080p signal directly. If the TV correctly deinterlaces 1080i, then there should be no visible difference between deinterlaced 1080i and direct 1080p (even with that extra step). There is no new information—nor is there more resolution, as some people think. This is because, as you can see in Figure 1, there is no new information with the progressive signal. It's all based on the same original 24 frames per second.

the only real reason to buy one console over another is exclusives. problem is, sony only has exlcusives that i can count on one hand worth playing. i would say get it for the blu ray player but i already have one.

Actually, it is. Forge has brought a whole new aspect to the game. Getting to design your own forts then inviting a bunch of people over live to play is the closest thing to building your dream game as most people will get.
