First off, I don’t actually care about the character 
Just put a helmet on and you’re fine. To me and most people it’s the REASON why they do it and feel the need to do all of those things. It’s the leadership and devs putting real world things into fantasy stories. Just see modern day diversity quotas for Amazon studios and stuff for Rings of Power as an example.
There’s virtually no “in world” reason to have black elves…they were born before there was a sun. There’s no evolutionary reason as to why would they need to have darker skin
But I digress.
Yes, you are correct here. I think what most people were/are referring to is beginning of the game, “creating” your character then - man/woman, tall/short, long/short hair, etc.

But you guys made up their reason and used your made up reason to be upset. You saw one gameplay glimpse and immediately rushed to they are making us play as an ugly female because woke reasons and they are trying to attack us personally. It never crossed your minds for a split second that maybe the character was created by a game developer/employee that (God forbid) had a similar appearance to that character.
Nope, the world revolves around you and every decision made is to attack or appease you. Everyone else is just an NPC

I'm not saying one way or the other on this, so don't lump me in with everyone freaking out about this stuff in games, I barely play video games
I just LOVED playing Fable so long ago.
Lastly, you don't think there's a possibility that this thing was delayed for so long because of the backlash on the character thing and so they delayed it in order to put that stuff in to make fans happy?
I think there's a possibility of that.
And to say that this was 100% always the plan and that we're the bad guys for being upset by it just weird. WE are the consumers, we should be able to get upset and good companies listen to their consumers/fanbases and I think that is what happened here (hopefully.)

Or it can just mean recreated for the fortnite generation that missed out on the original games.
Weve been remaking things for more modern audiences since the days of Shakespeare. Of course they could say reimagined for a new generation, but modern audiences encapsulates how different the tik tok generation is from every other one before them.

The only game that i can remember being ruined by it was the new dragon age. Hollywood has gone off the rails but I dont think gaming studios have the same thing going on. I dont remember any games from Microsoft Studios overran with DEI stuff.

South of Midnight. Was a decent game, but could have been something special if they hadn't spent the final stages of development reimagining the entire storyline and recreating the main character.

Every fable let you choose to play as a male.
You invented in your head that you would be forced to play as a female in this one then got mad at the devs for your own fantasy.

Exactly. All of this. There's this undercurrent of anti-woke that's claiming DEI is ruining pop culture, meanwhile half of it is people LOOKING for something to be offended by. Victim complex. Also, newsflash, Fable has always been "woke". The game has always been about choice. The original game in 2004 had same sex marriage.

Half the outrage when the teaser trailer dropped two years ago was because there was a black guy in medieval England in a fantasy game. The misogynistic and racist b/s is tiresome. No. Because i played fable 1, 2, and 3.
The entire premise of the game being different from other games is your character is how you shape it through your actions.
It doesnt even make sense to assume they would give you a static main character or f
A forced female when every other fable has let you choose.

Imagine if chicks wouldve freaked out about the MC being forced male if the old footage showed a male character. Thats how stupid you look for doing the same because it was a female.

The only thing I'm disappointed in with regards to character appearances for this game is that they took out the morality morphing. No more faint Halo's or growing horns. :/
