Ya know Phife, I could understand if you used any of your own points... Anybody can take what someone else says and turn it around.
The good old "I am rubber, you are glue" tactic. Might be impressive if you were a third-grader.
The Palamecia is pretty big. I expected to see only a few parts of the ship, but you run around over a long distance. The places you go aren't really vast, but it's a long distance trek to cross some of the areas.

I think the story is fairly well done.
The characters are well-developed and the game does a good job of revealing new information as you go along.
Initially each of the 6 main characters seem like a random group thrown together, but as the story progresses you start learning how each characters are connected.
The story is similar to most final fantasy games where a group of people are trying to save the world from destruction (extremely general description).
Without giving away too much, the story follows these 6 characters race against time to save their world.
I can be more specific since I realize that my description is stupidly general, if you want more details just pm me.

No that's fine. Just wanted to know if it was good. I hated 12's storyline and the clips I've seen kind of reminded me of 12.

This game is not at all like twelve... Much, much better. The battle system is revamped and very well done, and as the others are saying, the character development gets better as the game goes along and you learn about their connections to each other. If you can bear Snow and Hope for the first six or seven chapters, you will enjoy the rest of what you see. Even they get better after that.

Yeah, 12 didn't sit well with me. I think I was expecting too much after 10. But 13 is much better than 12.

Ten was definitely a benchmark for me. It's how I judge all RPG's of this type that I play. I am afraid if I use 13 as a benchmark, I may lose my taste for RPG's.

Snow annoys the piss out of me but I'm only on Chapter 5...maybe he'll get better. Hope is starting to grow on me but I still think he is a little f g t.
My ONLY problem to this point is that I would like to play someone other than Lightning so much. I'm SURE it will spread out as the game progresses though.

I'm sure you'll be pleased with the way the characters develop. I didn't like a few at first (Vanille/Hope), but they grew on me and by chapter 11, I really liked all the characters. Hope even become one of the stronger members of my party.

Phife, I like how you just acted like I was absolutely possessed by this game, but then use one of the characters to compare me to... I see your stupidity has ironic values. 
I understand that... Chapters seven and eight are mostly you controlling another character with Lightning not being the person you control.

I never finished XII, but so far I like all of the characters in XIII better (save for maybe Balthier). I didn't think I would like Lightning as a main character, but it turns out I was wrong. I've been pleasantly surprised by all of the characters.
The wife is going out of town for an interview next week, so I'll have a lot of spare time to devote to the game soon.

12's story developed so slow, it lost me early on. 13 is pretty good throughout, and (at least I find) the story is compelling. The cutscenes are great as you'd expect.
I was surprised by how much I liked the voice acting and characters for the most part. Vanille's voice is the only I have a problem with. Something about the accent she (on-again, off-again) displays annoys the hell out of me and doesn't seem to fit.
I have no problem with Snow's character at any point in the game. Vaan however...uh, I mean Hope...even though the story tries to make you like him through his development, I'd love to toss him off a cliff still.
There's better odds of her getting with a chick in the rest of the story than Sazh. And that's not a "Sazh has no chance" comment, that's a "there seems to be something between Vanille and ****" (Don't think you've met her yet in your game at chapter 4)

So, I just got done beating 'Cid' in the Ark. That was a pretty tough battle.
My favorite party combination looks like this so far:
Lightning, Hope, and Snow for regular battles
I switch out Snow for Fang during battles with bosses because of her Saboteur ability. Very effective.
At this point, I'm still trying to figure out the right way to level up my weapons and accessories. Also, how to balance the Crystarium points.
