Yes, I realize it doesnt have near the budget or team as Ori, but S&S was made with a husband/wife team

S&S is more of a Dark Souls 2D genre to me more than a true metroidvania, BUT i havent played it, I need to pick it up once I get through RDR2 and Dead Cells

this is true, but it still has a ton of Metroidvania elements though. I'm a sucker for Souls and MV, so it was a perfect hybrid for me. I still preferred the much more varied environments and the way more advanced combat system and skill tree. Platforming isnt as good as Ori or Hollow though.
I finally got all the charms in Hollow last night, now I need to go around and get the last of the essence, then knock out the Pantheon stuff. I honestly dont think I can get the Plat though - I peeped at the Pantheon of Hallownest and that's just ridiculous

Bumping this after finishing RDR2.
I LOVE BOTH GAMES.

RDR2 has more heart, and connecting to RDR1 is just amazing

I’m working my way through Red Dead now, and while I would still put GOW as #1 so far, it wasn’t without its flaws. RDR could easily pull ahead if it maintains its current pace

Well get ready because it doesn’t. At all. It starts awesome with the train heist, peaks during one of the Rhodes missions that feels like a Tarantino movie, and then abruptly says frick you. All the stuff that made the first half of the game awesome is hard to find in the second half.
I nominate RDR2 for overrated GOTY.
