Based on what I've read, I know alot of you have small kids too young to play, but is anyone gaming with their kid(s) yet?
My 5 year old is already amazingly good with Minecraft (X1 and PE) and Pixel Gun 3D on tablet. I've never played Minecraft, but decided to do so just to have some fun with him. And it is. Gaming with his has become alot of fun. And he seems to have figured out the controller pretty well.
Any suggestions on kid appropriate games (not named Lego) that we can play together? A non-bloody FPS? A turn based RPG? Anything side scrolling? Backwards compatible is fine. Indie is fine. But something he could play alone occasionally to.
And as a thank you for your deep contemplation, I give you the lovely Alexandra Daddario as tribute.

I have friends that have started playing board games with their kids (about 5) they have versions for ticket to ride, catan I think Agricola as well that are made for that age.
I know you are asking about video games but just wanted to present this option as well.

If he's into sports you couldn't go wrong with Madden or NBA

For RPG, Fable 3
You're limited on FPS games.
My friend plays black ops with his 4 year old and he's actually pretty good. So I imagine it can't be too bad.

My son is 5 but has the attention span of a gnat. The only games he shows any interest in is racing games. Forza 5 is his favorite so far. He created his own car, and he likes the mini game where you knock over the bowling pins.
I need to get Forza Horizon for him so he can just drive around.
