After having some time to get my panties out of a bunch and to think about it more, I think last night Trump was doing what he always does and trying to play 4D galaxy brain chess. I've seen some comments and tweets about how we got Iran to overreact and show off their defense capabilities and their emergency protocols and that makes sense to me. Like others have said, we're most likely waiting until the carrier from the South China Sea gets close enough to the ME that we feel comfortable. I have a feeling we kept it in the South China Sea instead of moving it toward Iran sooner due to the Chinese naval exercise that was going on near Taiwan.
I still think we're gonna hit them, but I think we just need time to get our assets in order.

I know I'm gonna get downvoted but Trump is being a dumbass with this whole situation. He's screwing over these people hardcore. Him flip-flopping over everything is annoying as shite sometimes.

Backing down after that would be so much worse than Obama’s Syria red line gaffe.
I think Trump's smart enough to know that by not doing anything at this point after everything he's said, he'd look extremely weak on the world stage and I don't think his ego would allow that.

I'm leaning towards the latter. The regime has their backs against the wall, they aren't just going to stop killing people. They have to to hold onto what control they have left. If you stop shooting people, the protests will continue to grow and the people will become more emboldened if they know they won't be shot. The more I think about it the more I think it's Trump fricking with them
