Apocoshitstorm Day 11...
Found a strange set of tracks in the desert. It's one you find with the Focus. Leads from a camp fire directly into a rock pillar. Then when I look up, there's some glowing shite at the top of it. But there's absolutely no way to get up there and Aloy never comments on it. Spent an hour trying to do the hop/jump thing to get up there, but no luck. Not sure if I found something hidden or it's just a glitch. Damn my curiosity

The corruption zone with two rockcrushers is probably the fight that gave me the most issues. Could not tear off the digging no matter how much I tried.
Eventually just fire arrowed them to death from a safe distance where they only would shoot rocks at me. Zone must have not let them go farther.

I had no trouble with that one though.

The rockcrushers were terrifying when I first saw them. I was fighting some long legs or something and all of a sudden these tremor looking fricks started fricking me up. I didn't stand a chance

They are the hardest enemies for me. I am lv 50 now with all of the gear so nothing really bothers me now but they were much harder for me than Thunderjaws stormbirds, or deathbringers.

I am *slighty* disappointed we didn't face a Horus as a final boss. Looks like a giant-size version of those machines in The Matrix.

I thought it looked more like a crab. Sure it's arms looked kind of like that.

Just finished. Incredibly impressed. Well worth the price of admission at retail. The audio and text pieces give the story so much extra depth. I was not expecting such good story telling.

Just got this yesterday. Its gorgeous so far, story is very intriguing. Didn't think I would like it just based on the cover.

the writing has been outstanding, esp the data logs

The memo from VP of sales to the receptionist is gold

The annoying part is knowing I have no clue how to see all these logs unless I stumble upon them. I admit I only really started reading and listening at the Gaia portion.

For some reason the game just got a lot harder for me. I've been taking my time, doing the side quests, and staying several levels above the suggested level for the main quests but holy shite. I just finished the part where
*spoilers*
You find olin out in the desert with those cultists and now I'm heading to "the ruins" and I have to go through this camp with an arse load of cultists, watchers, and a corruptor. They're kicking my arse. This is a level 14 quest and I'm level 21. I feel like once my cover is blown I'm running for my life. What am I doing wrong?

I used the best stealth outfit and mods possible, lots of traps and the tripcaster. When detected, switch outfit to fit the situation...something that protects from ranged weapons with related mods, for example.
Against most big machines, that tripcaster and the shadow/lodge bomb sling is cash money. Anything corrupted is very vulnerable to fire, so fire arrows, fire tripcasters, and blast/fire traps.

Thanks, I'll give that a try
What about the rope caster? I haven't messed around with it much

The shadow or lodge ropecaster is great against large machines, especially that freaking Stormbird. The other ropecasters are weaker and require more tie-downs. I found that by the time I hit the machine with the 5th tie-down, it would break the first one, leaving me perpetually short of fully trapping it.
My fav weapon is the sling that has the sticky bombs, blast bombs, and proximity bombs. Sticky bombs cause serious damage and disrupt machine attacks. Throw down some shock traps/tripwires, then unload the sling bombs.

Also, add the handling purple mods to the ropecaster and you can fire the ropes a lot faster and tie them down in half the time than without them, once tied down unload all the blast sling bombs on them

This game is one of my favorites.. just platinumed it Friday night and I honestly felt sad picking up that last metal flower. Such an achievement for video games to have come along to this point. Guerilla really deserves tons of praise for this gem!
