I’m kinda floored by all of the changes.
Especially what they did to player built outposts and starbases.
Definitely going to spend time in empire before reaching out to any of my old contacts (if any of them are even still active) about working my way back into 0.0
Probably going to start next to what was the main economic hub the last time I played: Jita 4-4

I don't even know where I am. Where ever the tutorial popped me out. Or close to it.
I sent you a friend request.
Is a lower sector number more safe or more dangerous?

Are you sure you did?
Lower is more dangerous. The lower the number, the longer it takes for NPCs to come to your defense if someone attacks you unprovoked. Functionally, there is no difference once you go below .5.
Its free reign PVP. And once you get to outside of Sovereign space (space controlled by NPCS) altogether, you are in an environment where if you aren't explicitly allied with the players who do control it, a concerted team effort will be made to find you and kill you because they operate under the assumption you will be doing the same to them.
(I am online right now if you want to try again.)
If we miss each other again, send an eve mail.
Might be easier to trace. Because you might have just added me as a "buddy" which is just a mark on your ledger. Unless you clicked on the notify tab, it didn't tell me anything.

I keep forgetting to log in once a week and que up some skills.
Cant get in a decent clan without 500K research points or whatever.
made it my primary game for about 3 weeks. Coolest thing that happened was I got blown up traveling through low sec " by accident" and everyone in thr group that blew me up sent me a ridiculous ammount of money. spent it all on training books and one ship
I just removed all my spreadsheet bookmarks last week or id link them. Mining calculators. death counters so you can check if your low sec route is kinetic, etc. I quit when i figured out my lowbie clan wanted to spend weeks grinding to make and build parts just to grind and farm bigger parts. It was gonna be 2-3 more weeks to get my skill count high enough to move to a big clan even with upgraded account.
So yea, plan on dedicating 2+ months just to get to "peon" status.

Well no.
They typically don’t want to deal with lowbies unless you get someone inside to vouch for you. Main reason why is the difference between being able to fly a craft at all vs well.
They have made the game extremely pretty since my last play through.
Small rocks in asteroid belts leaving long streaks of shadow, pretty (no atmosphere to diffract light so it’s all direct from the sun source)
I’m currently in limbo because I had to use a jump clone to firesale assets in 0.0, 24 hours before I can return.
But I think I found a decent niche a handful of jumps from Jita. 0.7 space with an ice belt spawn.
Bought and moved gear out there, including a solo rigged skiff, a yield rigged hulk to use when my alt is there (which can fly an orca and push tier 2 leadership bonuses), and a PVP rigged Drake to keep in the holds of the orca to trade my miner for if gankers arrive.
But Auburn Guy.....I have to ask.
What did you do to piss someone off?
There is a bounty for your death if you didn’t know

Well. I've only asked questions in the rookie help channel.
How do I appear on others radar or that overview window? Am I red or something?

I had a bounty my first day from talking in rookie chat as well. I think its a right of passage type thing lol.

I am surprised at how much they revamped the mining mechanics. Solo mining is now actually possible with decent skills. Before you would get forced to change ships to kill rats. Now if you have decent skills, drones can easily take care of them.
They also flipped around how the t2 miners worked. Before they were specialized into general use mining, ice mining, or mercoxit mining.
Now it is sub specialities on the three things that miners try to balance: Yield, ore hold, and tank.
Its come a long arse way from my starting days of storing ore in a jet can or a giant secure container to later come back with a hauler to pick up.
They also took away off site boosting, but gave benefits to make up for it. My Orca can almost mine as well as an exhumer via drones, and they gave it a much larger drone hold to make it easy to swap out for the type of drone I need for the situation. No more fitting just 5 and done. not bad profit boost from what was originally just a hauler alt, with the money maker being my main.
Not sure if I am entirely content with the exposure though. Factoring in the hull, fittings, and implants I am running this craft is well over 3 billion isk in value. Let's just say high sec or not, I am watching my directional scanners close.
That ship has a very fat arse. I have to use an exploit to get my warp time down to 20 seconds or so. Otherwise it would be measured in minutes.

I did some combat missions last night
They gave me decent awards.
I now basically have a miner ship and a fighter ship

I resubbed 6months ago. Had a buddy vouch for me and our empire mining corp to get into goonswarm. It was fun for quite a while. Had decent enough skills to fly a Macherial in their battleship fleet and for making isk i was killing rats in anomalys out in goon nullsec for about 15million isk every 30min.
The most amazing thing is seeing the captial mijing ships (the orcas big brother) doing entire belts by themselves with mining drones that cost more than my macharial did.
Also they changed it so that Titans can jump through gates..really bad arse seeing a titan come out of warp on a gate

Those are super low numbers IMO.
I guess they changed stuff to make industry more economically attractive.
Last night I was averaging 1.35 million isk/min mining in 0.7 space.
Granted that is using a 2 toon (miner plus orca)setup that is very very close to perfect yield across the board.
The only limiting factor to sustain ability is that it was an ice field I was mining. Spat out a block worth ~325,000 isk every sixteen seconds
