Nintendo, even though they openly ANNOUNCED two delays over 2 consecutive years, pushed BotW to the Switch’s release date on March 3rd 2017 I believe. It ended up being a tremendous move and was actually on both systems, much like Twilight Princess on the GameCube and Wii.
That being said, is something similar on the horizon for Final Fantasy? A dual release on the PS4 and PS5?
I’m also stuck wondering if what’s taking them so long is they’re gonna include all episodes at once like the original disks. I hope they don’t do it like Starcraft man
From the Terran campaign to the Legacy of the Void release was 5 years (2010-2015).
This is also assuming it doesn’t end up a multiplat like a lot of old PS1 mainstays have from back in the day like Crash.
One last thing, it should also be noted in the BotW instance, that it was more optimized for the Wii U and ran better on the console. Makes me wonder if that may be the case with the PS4 as well if it’s released on both.

I really hope PS5 can do better than a 20 year old game for a launch title.

Count me out as long as it still has that stupid Kingdom Hearts battle system.

A Final Fantasy VII launch title would be far and away the biggest launch title for any platform since Super Mario 64, and even that is a big maybe.

The Final Fantasy VII remake has already raised some red flags that some purists simply are not going to like.
We already know that the battle system is going to be drastically different and resemble something a little bit closer to Final Fantasy XV or Kingdom Hearts. This doesn't really bother me, but I know some people are going to have a problem with this.
The early report about the game being episodic is not really something that I'm excited about.
And quite frankly this development cycle doesn't really bode well for it either. It doesn't matter how amazing this game ends being, a game in development this long will never live up to expectations.
By today's standards Final Fantasy VII is actually a very simple role-playing experience. I feel like when it is all said and done this game will be a remake of Final Fantasy VII in just name only and that will sharply divide fans.

I don't think this game ever comes out.

Will we get 4 discs again for it or is it gonna be a 300GB digital file?
