Is there anything more jarring than playing a game at 60 fps then switching to 30 fps?

I have been playing Dark Souls Remastered on the PS4 the past month. Every once and a while when I die like 10 times in the same area I like to switch it up and take a break. I usually hop on the switch and get some Korok seeds or moons in Odyssey. But last night, I hopped into Bloodborne to continue my Chikage/Evleyn run.
Holy shite. I played this game easily 300 hours, but going into it after DS1:R was running at 60fps, it was unplayable. It looked like the entire game was lagging and I couldn't continue playing it.
It's crazy how I've never noticed, and played a shitton of that game and enjoyed the hell out of it, but switching right over from 60fps made it feel like last gen.
So I'm playing a buttery smooth game from 2011, and then switching to a next gen game and it's a huge downstep, pretty crazy
I'm pretty sure if I just fire up bloodborne as the first game of the day I wouldn't notice as much, but holy shite that was jarring.

The crazy part is 60fps>30fps + visual fidelity in a game like DS.
So is it really a remaster?

I'm not sure what you are saying.
On console this is the first time it's available at 60fps so just that alone is warranted a remaster IMO.
Same thing with DS2 scholor of first sin, it runs at 60fps on the ps4 and it's so smooth compared to DS3 or BB.

Play DS1:R then jump to BB.

i'm not sure if its just the FPS or there are some other things going on, but switching from MLB The Show 18 on the Pro to the regular PS4 is terrible.
the ball literally skips during pitches on the regular PS4.

Lol at 60 fps
Tend to agree. 90 was always the sweet spot.
30 to 60 is a huge leap.
60 to 90 not as much
90 to 120 can barely notice
More frames you have the less you notice the variance.

I would think so - like discovering your wife has a dong on your wedding night.

We aren't all so lucky.

I can almost never tell the difference lol

Yeah I can barely tell.
When Bloodborne gets bad and starts skipping frames it's apparent but I can never really tell with FPS unless the game is a slideshow like Just Cause 3.

I tried to get back into Destiny 2 and literally had to turn the game off five minutes after firing it up.
The 30 FPS about made my eyes bleed. It was horrible.

I keep telling people i could never play Halo until 5 came out... as a PCMR guy due to it
being the first 60fps Halo. They dont really get it

I got my first 144 monitor a couple weeks ago. I spent way longer than I care to admit yelling, "OH MY GOD LOOK, EVEN THE START MENU IS SO SMOOTH!" to my wife.
I didn't think it would be that big of a difference...then I got one.
