I really don't get how you can play split screen on that tiny screen. Maybe I'm old.
I'm the same way. Hell, I play on a 42" TV and think I miss some things still

It'll be interesting to try. I grew up playing snes Mario kart in horizontal split screen on a 20" tube and also 4 way split screen with goldeneye n64...hours upon hours so it's prob doable

Played an hour before work this morning and a wave of nostalgia flowed through me. Haven't played mk since 64.
This it's a great game to show the switches features. I can play online races on TV or portable. This game is perfect for the switch and holy shite it's fun.

Amazon telling me "shipping soon" but "will be delivered before 8pm." It better as hell be shipping soon if that's the case

Why? Do they do anything in Kart?
Might have to open some up. Also picking this up in a bit, glad I'm off today.

I downloaded the digital version since it was only 6.2 GB. I figure it's a good game to just throw on anywhere I happen to be for quick races so not having to switch out game carts to get to it is ideal.
This has to be the definitive Mario Kart. It is truly perfection of a game. It's a blast.
my friend code is:

Surprised a lot of folks didn't go all digital.
I feel it plays right to the benefit of the Switch. I'm buying the big, mostly single player games on cart, everything else on digital (figure I would just leave those in the system while I am playing them).
I did get a 256gb micro sd....so yeah that was a large added cost.

I'm old school. I love opening a new case and putting a cartridge in
I understand they stopped doing it to keep costs down but I wish they still made those awesome instruction manuals with the basic story and illustration of mechanics

Pretty much the same as me. It just depends on how much I will play a game and how long if I'll go digital or physical. Also the type of game. A game like MK where you can hop in and out and play quick rounds to me is the ideal digital game. But like Zelda, and Mario Odessey, etc I'll have both physical bc Ill put the cart in and prob wont take it out for days. Then I can still jump into to stuff like Splatoon and MK without having to switch back and forth just cause I want play a quick match here and there.

I have enough shtt in my gaming computer room. Plus loads times are quicker. This is one game I want faster load times.

Exactly my strategy. I only like to play the big single player games like 2-3 at a time at most (and that's not all on the Switch). Splatoon, Kart, Street Fighter, ARMS....I'll just want to jump right in and have those all of the time.

A few online games in.
Pretty slick so far, haven't noticed much lag.
I wish the online battle modes had more customization. I at least would like a "Team Battle" Option and stick with the same team for a little while. That would be ideal (without creating a custom room).
I probably can't do too much scheduled stuff this weekend (moving), but next week should we pick some times and create a room and get some battle in?

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - Smart Steering is on by default; if the game feels like it's 'fighting' you in the corners or near shortcuts, this might be the reason why!
To turn it off, when in a race, pause the game and press L. Other options such as auto-accelerate are there as well (seen at the top of the pause menu), but they are off by default unlike the aforementioned steering option.

Wasn't there something about games not being able to be saved to it? Or saved games? The cartridges are so small and I didn't want to get tied down to the 32 GB limit.
