They took it off gamepass(I had to purchase it) and only allow it on console this year(pc had cheaters in the past). I'm good with it. Wish COD would get with the program and make a console only COD title for the future.

Great game imo. I play online rated mostly. The challenges are fun and I take hitting practice more than actual play. I do play DD. I'm 3-1 after 4 games(came out yesterday). I have only played the Dodgers since The Show 2019. Last season I was 90-33.

They finally got rid of sets and seasons in Diamond Dynasty which pretty much ruined the last two years of the game.

I've seen some stuff on Twitter where the hitting is broken. Can someone who has played explain what they might be talking about?

I don't know about broken but it is more difficult than 2024. There are way less "miss hits" if you are not accurate with the PCI. Outside breaking pitches are really hard to hit unless you are using ambush to sit on the outside corners. I've gotten a few Good's and Perfects that are line outs our warning track shots, but I'd say it's in line with 2024.

Pitching is similar. Pure analog is harder and more sensitive to mistakes, like hitting. I abandoned it pretty quickly.

In general you have to be better with the PCI and controls. They no longer reward you for misses.

I started RTTS on the ‘stock’ difficulty and did absolutely horrible

Pitching is manageable (I still got crushed) and hitting was VERY difficult. I’m not ready to call the game broken because this very well could be a ‘me’ issue, but I’m definitely dropping the difficulty down a bit and starting over. I never received an offer from LSU and I can’t bring myself to play for another school

Even though it’s hard, I’m enjoying the game so far. My only gripe is that I hate how low your ratings start off. I mean I get it because they want you to progress from the bottom, but a top tier MLB prospect is way better than my character on the game

Anybody tried the RTTS and played in college? Curious how deep that is. I’m assuming you only get to play 2-3 games at LSU

Yes, played the college route in RTTS and I didn't lose any games so unsure if its one and done or not. The championship game is just one game for sure though. FYI, if you don't get offered to the school you want after completing highschool, go to the MLB combine, more schools will offer you after that. Then you choose if you want to go to college after the Draft

where the hitting is broken
im 5-2 on online rated. Aside from having vast experience in past seasons, I find through 7 games that something is weird about the opponents I match up against mainly the hitting side. Most "human" opponents do human things during the game like fake bunt etc or run around silly or message. Pitching for example, humans chase pitches alot, bots won't. The opponents I played so far, it seems like any pitch i called on the borderline for a ball they won't swing, when i deliver just inside the strike zone, they know to crush it. I get it that players are swinging away but to do it pitch after pitch being able to differentiate a close strike or ball is not normal usually. Doesn't seem real. I feel like I'm playing bots. They squaring up the ball like only bots can do. I had a batter 0-2 and called a fb highest i could throw it, the batter crushes it for a homerun. Name any mlb player who has crushed a fb that came in at his forehead level . There aren't any. I play on "all star" because advanced players will play "rookie" and just ambush everyone esp with hitting who are inexperienced. Playing on "all star" esp with pitching balances the playing field imo. Again, while my opponents are hitting 4 ft line drives to the wall, I'm squaring up balls and hitting them for outs and fouls. Weird. I don't get my opponents to hit many foul balls. One hit was a 5ft high line drive to deep left field right in front of me that landed literally 6ft in front of me and it was hit so fast that I couldn't even take 2 steps before the ball hit ground while I trapped it way out in deep left. The hitting seems weird. So far this is my worst start in 4 yrs or so. Yeah I'm 5-2 but my 5 wins are all 1 run or 2 run wins. They are dogfights where i was losing tull late mostly. I feel like im 1-6 . I got beat by some opponent(seemed like a bot on "goat" lvl ) he won 10-0. No matter what I threw to him , he shite on it. It seemed not real. It was like 3-2 after 6 innings and he just proceeded to go on a 5 hit streak so I beaned all his batters until they had 10 runs. Game was called due to unsportsmanlike like conduct lol. I messaged him and no response. I looked at his stats and this fricker was 11-0 destroying everyone.

I play the Dodgers and their line up seems slow compared to previous years. I've only used L.A. forever. You have to always put Ohtani into the line up to bat. He isn't listed as a starter because he is a pitcher i guess. They need to update him because for a 99 pitcher he struggle hitting spots in the one time I used him, I pulled him in the 3rd inning because he was doing so bad. My relief pitcher was spot on.

i learned a long time ago, dont spend your money . I won't play DD until I collect enough decent players to play a good game. I usually play online rated and do all the challenges.

Best sports game out there, first time I’ve shelled out 70 bucks on release of a game in a while but I couldn’t resist.

In the challenges, ive pitched with Paul Skenes and hit a 100 mph and hit with Dylan Crews. He is listed as one of the starting OFer's for the Nationals. Christian Moore(2nd base for TonyV last yr) has a program moment where you hit as him.

These guys must be in awe that they were in college last yr or two and now are on The Show 2025. Pretty cool marketing deal for MLB.

PGA 2K25 is the only reason i didnt pre-order the show for the early release for the first time in 8 years.

I honestly might not even buy it this year. Im glad that they did get rid of the seasons system though.

They need to also stick with less outlier pitchers

There’s definitely something going on with the online matches. I don’t want to say the entire experience is scripted, but it sure seems that way.

I went on a 3 game skid where I could not hit anything, even perfect perfect contact was leading to fly outs on the warning track, numerous times. Next two games I was raking everything even with bad timing and lackluster PCI placement. Went on a 3 game win streak and back to the same story again. All of these games were on all-Star difficulty too. I usually hover around World Series level each year but can barely sit in Wild Card currently

Every game from sports games to Call of Duty to Marvel Rivals seem to be obsessed with matchmaking, and none seem to do a good job of it. The Show has been out a couple of weeks, just put people in games and they’ll naturally find their way to the correct level. Instead, you get this shite where they use the game itself to “try” to level the playing field and it ruins the game.

I agree. I'm using all star for online rated. Seems weird. Had another game where I was tied 4-4 going to the 10th and all of the sudden the opponent was dotting pitches and then scored 6 runs on me in 1 inning. I lost 10 to 5. Weird.

I think , not many people bought game and they are plugging games against human with bots. This dude the whole game never chased any balls close to the zone except maybe 2 times in 9 innings. He seemed too perfect. The next game i play , the opponent chased several close pitches and I won 9-1 after he quit game by the 5th inning.

We are playing bots on "competitive". I looked in the settings during the game and this is what it said. I preset my settings for "casual" gaming but yet it places bots against live opponents and changes the level of comp to a harder setting so basically your playing someone who is insanely better than what your used to playing. Weird. I'm 14-7. I've never started off this bad in 8 yrs playing this game. I know right off the bat if I'm playing someone i shouldn't be or its a bot(which is what it is)when they are crushing the ball pitched over their heads on into the dirt

I havent even started DD yet because my team average ovr is only an 80. I usually wait till I got a decent team of 87 ovr then I'll play game one. I'm trying to achieve as many moments and programs as possible to build my team up. I usually tried to get at least 5/6 switch hitters in my lineup. Stops opponents from switching pitchers ever dam time in the later innings
