Did anyone ever set up a TD squad?
I'm on the three elders mission now. Tried Kushala I think it was and died 3 times as he farted on me. I should probably prepare for these fights a little first

If y'all need help with any of em, let me know, psn Saintkenn.
Shooting flares can help but I've found a lot of times that you'll be worse off for doing so.

I typically don’t shoot flares anymore. I’ll go into the mission, watch the cutscene and quit. Then look for the mission in SOS flares myself and try and find a few Japanese baws in a lobby
I beat the two tempered Bezelgeues, or whatever last night. Good God that was horrible.

I captured both of em, lol. I used a bow on that one and sat back and let them bomb each other. I tend to capture the monsters more then kill em

Yeah I typically capture as well. Just depends on the situation or if I’m searching for a certain cut.
That was the first fight I used my fully maxed Diablos bow on after grinding for forever for black twisted horns or whatever. It hits so hard.

For horn hunts, like on (black)diablos, I break out the chargeblade, you have to break both horns to get a chance to get the majestic, so its become routine to do so.

I don't think this game is for me. Way too clunky and tedious. I hate the 45 minute hunt format.

If a hunt is taking you 45 minutes then you are doing something severely wrong.

Probably, but that's not the main reason I find it tedious. Just really don't like the feel of combat.

If you are taking 45 minutes to kill something chances are you don't understand the combat system. If you don't understand the combat system it will feel clunky. Especially if you use slow and powerful weapons. The game is not a hack and slash, you need to understand when and how to use combos.
Edit: Combat is the best part of this game and it is why so many people like it. You can feel yourself getting better when you learn how to play, It is very much like Dark Souls in that manner. Lots of people that just pick up the game are quick to judge it though.

Dark Souls feels fluid and sweet. This feels just slow and bad to me. I get that people like it, just not my cup of tea.
Was using insect glaive, dual wield and the proto axe, combat just feels annoying and slowed down even with the quick and mobile stuff.
ETA: was exaggerating the 45 minutes, more like 20-30 but that still isn't my thing.

How far are you into the game?
Posted on 2/14/18 at 2:17 pm to Mystery
The big rhino thing in the desert was my last one, that's what pissed me off enough to come here

I assume you mean Diablos. He is for sure the first skill and gear check.
And what I meant by Dark Souls is not the actual speed of combat or how long it takes to kill a boss. Monsters have much larger health pools in MH. I meant how you drastically improve when you learn the ends and outs of each boss and how to correctly use your weapons. Top Tier players kill these hard hunts in 1 minute. LINK I would never be able to pull that off.

I assumed he meant the barroth. Like the 4th or 5th mark in the game

If so he just needs to watch some videos on his weapon. Learn how to use it.

Starting to think the same. Got to Nergigante and got sick of the grind. Tried grinding 7 star Rathalos for the armor, died a few times, and spent the last time (same mission) chasing the bastard for around 30 minutes. Called it quits after that. Maybe I will come back eventually.
The combat was not necessarily the problem for me. I just got tired of chasing the monsters over and over again.
