My ps3 just shut off in the middle and now won't turn back on. The power button is blinking red.

That sucks big time. You have a PS4 so, I will assume you won't be buying another PS3. I hate to see this happen.
I have a pS3 super slim or whatever it is. I haven't really had any issues with it. The older fat ones I kept laying sideways and had problems all the time.
