I guess if he can't get it working at some point soon, I will have to play the super team controlled by the CPU.

I just tried again after a while and it does the same thing.
Up to you 9's, if you want to wait till tomorrow I will have all day to try it out. If it doesn't work in the morning HTF can boot me and you play CPU. Or you can make him put me on auto right now if you won't have time to play tomorrow.

You can try that, but in my experiences, I hate to tell you that it will come up for a minute and then shut down.
Probably the thermal paste has melted off and it is overheating. If the game gets stuck there is a way to get it out watching a video on YouTube. Holding down buttons and it spits the disc out.

When I had the YLOD, I went to a CPU store and bought some thermal paste. I took the PS3 apart and got to where the thermal paste is supposed to be and you could see it was dried up and crusty. I cleaned that all off and smeared it on there and heated it up with a heat gun, not a hair dryer. Has to be really hot. Put it all back together and traded it in the same day for double trade value at GameStop and bought a slim at bestbuy.
It was a pain in the arse taking it apart and keeping up with everything and being careful not to tear a electrical ribbon. I didn't know shite about thermal paste. I just watched the video on YouTube. I knew that was my problem though and it was out of warranty so I didn't mind trying myself.

I can't stay in without a ps3. The dynasty is really the only thing I do on ps3, so if it means buying a new one just for one game probably not. Sucks that they won't make the game on new gen.
Maybe if you all get around to madden on ps4 I will be in. I just can't see spending the money for something I just use for this now.
