There’s a gold bar in the sheriffs office of the burnt town right outside your camp for you cash strapped boys. Hidden in a locked box under the desk.
It’s in one of those tip videos. There’s a treasure hunt side mission too at some point to get two gold bars for $1000. Maybe even 3

Southwest of the camp where you buy a map. The reward is two gold bars worth 500. I stumbled across a building full of corpses. Looks like it was a cult doing a mass suicide

Ok well I didn’t know if there where two different missions but seems like there is. There’s another way to get 3 good bars. You go to a point in the mountains and see a cave drawing. Go to a different point and go into a cave and line up some statues based on the cave drawing that you copy into your journal and bam, 3 more gold bars. So $$$ in gold bars is available if you know where to look. You’ll have to checkout on YouTube or something for specific details. That’s all I know.

Game is solid but definitely not the game of the century everyone was hyping it up to be. Movement is slow and unresponsive and controls are generally pretty clunky. Having to repeatedly tap A/X just to go max speed on a horse is annoying. RDR1 did movement way better. Loot animations are also almost never a good idea
The game is extremely impressive, but I feel like they sacrificed fun gameplay for the sake of realism in a lot of areas.

I had something odd happen. I did the mission where you and Hosea go look for that bear...I track, put the bait down.
Hosea says the bait needs adjusting or something, we go to fix the bait and the bear comes straight for us. I get one shot off, hit it in the neck, it's unfazed, and begins mauling the frick out of me. I get it off me for a second, shoot it a couple more times, it grabs me again. I was sure I was dead.
Then it just cuts to the bear running away. I suddenly have no blood on me, and Hosea tells me he's sorry he wussed out, and thanks me for saving him. I have no idea what happened. A glitch, I guess?

Valid criticism. Doesn't make the game not an all time great. I get slammed for saying Spider Man feels like a chore at times but it is more a knock on open world games these days than Spider Man itself.
