No, it just changes the look of the crosshair. The auto aim setting is separate and further down in the menu.
I think if they at least let me change the color of the cross hair it might help too. Some sort of color slider would be nice.
Speaking of auto-aiming, is anyone else playing with it totally off? I'm not very far in the game but I felt like the gun combat was too trivial with it on so I have it off. However, the missions seem to assume you have it on based on the number of enemies they throw at you.
I'm sure I'll get better at aiming & combat, but the crosshair being so difficult to see is a definite hurdle.

Went to the top of Mt. Chiliad on the lift thing. Knocked two people off the cliff then jumped on a dirt bike and hit a ramp only to jump off and parachute right into the face of the side of the mountain.

Also, hang out by banks and try and knock off money trucks. Got 7k from one yesterday

What impressed me the most yesterday was the new behavior of the police.
While playing as Franklin I got hit by a train out in the country and I woke up exiting a small medical center. There were no cars around so I started just walking around until I passed by a group of guys talking in their front yard. I don't know what I did but they jumped me and I beat the 4 of them up. The police were on alert after that so I started running. They chased me to a dilapidated apartment building which had a little half wall on the back side. I jumped over the wall, went into cover and waited.
At this point the police were in vision cone mode searching for me. Technically their vision cones were on top of my location but their view was obstructed by the half wall. I kind of assumed the game would "cheat" and they'd be able to see me anyway, but they didn't. They walked right by me talking amongst themselves about "losing visual contact." A few minutes later they gave up and all of my stars were gone. I just thought that was awesome and it felt cinematic and tense.

The police are way more realistic this game. I've had several incidents like than. I even had 3 stars in the city and ended up ramping off of a bridge trying to get away. I landed in a really weird spot in between a building and a wall. There was no way anyone could see me, but the cops were in search mode right on the other side of the wall.
Surprisingly, they weren't alerted and left after 5 minutes or so.
Edit: realistic may have been a bad word. The way the police act is way more logical I guess

I went in guns blazing to jack that SprayBug van for the heist, all of a sudden police are on the scene. I shoot it out with the porkers and then hop in the van and lead them on about a 5-10 minute car chase trying to shake em. Since I had 3 stars on me I had the chopper looking for me, so I got off the interstate and quickly e-braked it underneath one of those bridge underpasses (where hobo's camp out) and lost them. Saw the police and chopper searching on top of the bridge for a while and then they disappeared.
Thought for sure they were about to find me hiding out and I was gonna have to put them down for a dirt nap.

Picked a fight with Master Chief in front of the chinese theater yesterday.
I figured they would think up some funny names to put on the stars on the sidewalk, but I couldn't make out what any of them said.

I pulled up behind an SUV at a red light and started honking at the guy. At first he flipped me off, then I kept on honking at him and he got frustrated and gassed it running the red light and getting t boned by another vehicle.
Also sometimes when you run into another car you can tell when you've killed the driver because he's slumped over the steering wheel and his horn is on.
