I knew it was bad for the sport, but this year has reared its ugly head a little more.
It's going to get worse and worse each year. I think last year was the first year we had evidence of guys signing "contracts" and then transferring after (the Wisconsin player IIRC). This year it's even more prevalent.
Eventually the sport will bottom out and either congress grants one of those anti-trust exemptions to the NCAA or a few teams break off and start a super-league with their own rules which would tamp down on the wild west 24/7 free agency going on right now.
Didn't Duke sign a multi year deal with Mensah when he transfered? Not worth the paper it's printed on.
The most recent example of us getting Chaplin and him being a total bust should be a pretty clear indicator that there is no sure thing, even if you get the proclaimed best lineman from the portal.
No point in hand wringing until the chips fall where they may leading up to the start of the season.

If Pettiford doesn't bring his scoring chops, then he is closer to a net negative due to his missing PG skills and size related defensive issues.
We'll be lucky to make the NIT if this level of play keeps up. As others have mentioned, the play of a few of the younger guys is something to build on for next year (if they stay).

The way AU got screwed by the refs last year should have this list include us.

It was amusing during the Olympics when all the drama networks were showing the different events. Was interesting to watch white water rafting on the CW

He called DVD, my DB coach and Durkin, my DC. I hope those are good signs.
I wouldn't read too much into it. Back when payments were under the table, having a recruit getting an "AU" tattoo and then not committing to us was the high water mark of not believing a single thing these kids are saying.
At least the Oregon kicker has an all time name, Atticus Sappington
We're a baseball school now

With the history of poor production that AU has had regarding WRs over the last 20 years, stack the WRs up and let the chips fall where they may. Not like there is some proven WRU system being upended here

I have a really hard time watching this team play ball. Hall is an absolute dog though
It is difficult to watch, especially following up the formula AU had going the last couple of years. It seemed like the team thrived without any one player being consistently dominant.
This year, we've just got to hope than Hall/Tahaad catch fire because the poor roster construction doesn't allow the team to win games.

No they aren't that much better imo.
It didn't actually seem like there was a huge disparity in big man play in the game.
Hall did his thing but A&M came together down the stretch and the known AU defensive flaws showed up.

re: Freeze's locker room as big a mess as Chizik's in 2012

Please explain to me how this is sustainable.
Well, it's not. Nobody is saying it is.
The NCAA fought tooth and nail to prevent any sort of overt player payment/movement for over 30 years. If at any point they had compromised we likely would have seen a more gradual progression to player payment and movement that would have settled on making sense.
Instead they forced the players to go around the NCAA to the courts which pretty much nuked any rules that were in place.
Only way this gets solved is if congress gives one of those anti trust exemptions (unlikely as congress has been deadlocked for like a decade) or some sort of union and CBA comes into play
As gratifying as it would be to believe these reports are true, the timing indicates "sour grapes"
Cause he had nowhere else to go in D1
Hopefully, some of the portal entrants come back into play but I just don't know. It will absolutely hurt to see our top guys potentially perform like Bo Nix once they leave Auburn, but that's CFB now.

After everything we saw regarding offensive regression under Hugh Freeze, I place the blame for just about everything on our former coach and his crew.

I enjoyed my play through of it. I'll revisit it once they eventually release the DLCs.
It absolutely does not reinvent the wheel in any meaningful way, but delivers well on known RPG mechanics along with improvements/lessons learned from the first 1.

Folks were advocating that firing Freeze would lead to an exodus. News flash, this kind of exodus was coming either way.
Just the way CFB is now

We try to run Bruce’s scheme but the passing is horrendous and some won’t attempt to pass.
No argument from me on that. Watching Tahaad try to run the point guard position is hard. The minutes he did that last year were tough as well, haven't seen a lot of progress on it.
