Yes, but if you set an alert for the thread, you'll get a notification on the site even if people don't respond directly to you.

Name: Abdoulaye "Good-Eye" Mahfouz
Job: Crow's Nest
Abdoulaye was born somewhere along the Barbary Coast 23 years prior, his family part of a nomadic tribe that journeyed all over North Africa. As a child anytime his tribe ventured near the shore he would gaze upon the infinite expanse with wonder, often conjuring fantastic visions of what lay beyond the horizon.
Abdoulaye grew up as a hunter within his tribe, often the first to spot game far off in the distance. His life was a simple one, as for many in the tribe, but he never gave up on his dreams of seeing what was beyond that watery horizon.
One day, about two years before our current events, Abdoulaye saw a ship set anchor off the shore. He had learned a bit of the language of these visitors over the years when they traded with his tribe, but rarely had he been there as they rowed ashore. Alone, he walked up to these men of the strange land of Eeengeland, and in a broken version of their tongue asked if he could leave with them. These men saw immediate value in him, a tall figure that was a full head above their tallest, clearly built from hunting on the plains of Africa. Soon they also learned of his uncanny ability to spot objects at great distance, and was given the nickname "Good-Eye". He has been sailing the Seven Seas ever since, finding his true calling among the waves.
That work?

Perfect.
Now just waiting on other players.
While waiting, do Garm and Rotgut know each other by any chance? We’r in port. Y’all are all pirates but might not have necessarily been on the same crews.
While waiting, I ask people to think how they might know other Player characters

I'd say good chance. Garm is known to pull out his lute during down time and play a song to bring the sounds of the ocean back to the land. Doesn't hurt a good vibe increases the drinks being drank and makes winning coins from a few hand of cards just a tiny bit easier. If this is a common port for pirates, then likely our paths have crossed since Garm congregates at high traffic areas.

His former captain, Captain Ironhand. Man beat him and a lot of his crew. When they mutinied, his captain escaped and is still out there.

For sure. Good music makes good rum flow, and I love good rum.
And bad rum. I love that too.

“Get off MY island.”
You stand in a courtyard in a fort so hungover you want to hug the ground to keep straight. The sun beats down on you and you can barely keep from puking on the governor of Nassau who stands before you.
“24 hours, be off,” he hisses.”Pathetic, I doubt you even remember what you did.”
He stares at Rotgut and Garm. “Your gambling last night has completely rearranged the political landscape of the western Caribbean.
Mr Gut, you lost a lot of money to your wenches. Btw, you must pay me back before you leave or I’ll put a bounty on your head with the royal navy. £190 pounds. You were so pathetic they left you and you crawled into a gibbet cage.
Mr Garm, you decided to go gambling with the Anglican bishop of Nassau. Who lost a lot of money. To the point where he’s given up the cloth and is now selling secrets of every high ranking person in the Caribbean. And now he’s teamed up with Mr Gut’s wenches. I’m going to be ruined. And I might add, you were so drunk you were trying to teach pigeons swim lessons in the town fountain”
And then the governor’s eyes fall on Goodeye. While Goodeye is hungover, he actually feels fantastic. Really amazing actually.
“Mr eye, how could you…you were seen last night having dinner with Captain Ironhand. Things got tense. But then the last sight of you was walking into the jungle with candlesticks and wine with Captain Ironhand’s mother…. You sir are not a gentleman.
So I will say one last time, Get the hell off my island”

Ok guys, that’s the setup. You have 24 hours to before the governor of Nassau declares you enemies of the state if you remain on Nassau.
I’ll let yall discuss what you want to do. A couple of extra notes
Garm, while definitely not the worst thing possible, the hangover is hitting you worse than everyone else. Until you do something that reinvigorates you, you will have a -1 modifier.
Rotgut, you did lose a lot of money. If you can’t find a way of paying it back, you will have a bounty on you for that 190 pounds.

Garm:
I ask for a moment with my hungover compatriots. As we walk a few steps back from the governor, I position myself so that my back is to him, obscuring his view of what I am doing.
I pull out some parchment and ink and begin hastily scribbling with barely legible handwriting: Do we flee to try to secure booty for our debts?
A slow smile forming on my face.
(out of character question. Are we members of an established crew? Do we have deeds to a boat. If not, maybe a seek a ship and join up with a crew... Or steal one to form our own?)

I’ll let yall decide how established your current crews are but you don’t have any deeds to ships and your not ranking officers in the crews. And you know your current ships aren’t planning to depart any time soon as the winter storms will make return to England dangerous which is where they were headed.
You have noticed some smaller ships preparing to depart for local trips. You do know your experienced enough you may be able to catch on with some of those crews if you desire.

I’ll also say, you guys kinda got very straight forward “ what happened last night,” rolls hah.
No one had intimate relations with a monkey or the devil. Also, would have been real awkward but you could have just died…not that we couldn’t have gotten around that
