I think you are just at the point where you hate just to hate. Friend joining is easy as shite. Never have 1 single issue ever and its usually a full squad of us playing.
One of us searches for a server with about 50/64 and joins. We all hit join when it pops up he's joining server, we all join server, hit one button to switch teams if necessary, create own squad and good to go for the next few hours.

If you ever find a good deal on Ghosts, I'd consider buying it just to have something else to play on my PS4 until The Show.

i agree with button layout, especially in the choppa. preferred BF3 layout.
the tank doesn't bother me though, and thats mainly what i use.
amount of people don't mean much to me. with the maps being so big you need 64 people. each area in conquest provides a little battle within itself, and also a different way to attack or defend the location.
maps are maps. they're isn't going to be anything overly revolutionary about them.
characters are fine for me. not quite sure what the complaint here is.
using different guns doesn't mean much to me. i still use the first one offered.
i do see some of your points, and have problems myself occasionally with lag. i'm not quite sure why BF hasn't fixed the party issue, but i've not had much problem getting in a game with people.
all in all i like the game. absolutely like it more than the abomination COD has become.

I'm also butthurt that this game is why I got a PS4 and I don't enjoy it much.
I haven't played it much because of the lag problems I have, so maybe if the lag wasn't there I'd feel differently.

i will say that lag hasn't been an issue with me. however the last couple times i've gotten on the internet was very poor. not necessarily lag, but the internet coming in from the wireless is not consistent.
i still believe it is my router. the thing is at least 5 years old, and doesn't even say G or N model, its just old.
hoping the new one i ordered works.

I rented it, best campaign, and didn't last but a few hours online. Made me want to off myself it was so bad. Gun fights have got to be the worst of any shooter I've played in a long time. Preferred Home Front over it. Hated every map too.

Aw it's not that bad... hit detection is the best in the series, maps some of the worst. Strikezone and a couple others are good though.
