They didn’t produce that many digital consoles

I can’t wait till all these scalpers are stuck with a mass stock of units that they can’t flip

Its going to happen and I'll laugh my arse off.
Just out of curiosity I'm following Craigslist Houston and you can see the price dropping down daily.
In a few weeks, why risk getting robbed/scammed for a retail type price when you can just walk in an actual retail store and get one.
They are all-in with a widgit they have no need for and will need that money back for rent, weed, food or whatever. I'm not an economist but I could see them selling even below retail to move the unit and cut their losses.

Not that big of a deal they can always sell for a few dollars less than the store and not lose much. Especially if they have already sold a few for big profit.

Ironic giving how much the buy into the pandemic hysteria when it suits them, but will be completely vague on releases and stock causing people to line up for may something... or maybe nothing.
