So, can you higher level guys tell me when was the first time you saw a gold drop from an engine enemy? I'm 30/31, and have yet to see one. I made 3 farming runs through DZ01-DZ03 last night with no luck. Also did 2 Daily missions as well.

I haven't seen a high end drop yet and I've been lvl 30 for close to a week and a half.
Only one of my three friends has seen a HE drop from an NPC and it was on the very first Challenging mission you completed. HE drops are only available I believe from named enemies in the DZ (Not sure if you have to be way up north, I feel like I remember hearing it has to be lvl 32 named Elites) and named enemies in the 'Challenging' missions.
I'm almost in full HE gear just from the pieces you get from completing a challenging mission and from buying blueprints.

They are rare for sure.
Scavenging stat helps.
I'm lucky if I get one a night of farming. One he drop every other day is more realistic.
I've had the most luck at the Refuelling station, the sports store, and Bryant park. Dz02-dz03

But top buy the HE blueprints requires a DZ level of 50, right?
So you're made it all the way to DZ50 without seeing any gold drops?
ETA: My scavenging is about 78% at the moment.

The guy at the top does require rank 50. Only way to craft high end level 31 chest, gloves, holster.

From the special weapons vendor in the BoO. He's upstairs in the Tech wing. Only takes Phoenix credits.

Spent a few hours last night farming the exploit on Lincoln Tunnel and did not see one yellow drop. I'm hoping the Consulate is better.

i did LT last night for 2 hrs and personally got 12 HE drops and my friends each got like 4.

Scavenging was further defined by the recent updates. It does not increase the base rate of things dropping. However, it does increase the chances that you receive better stat rolls and higher quality items in the items that do drop for you.
