Ciris face and overall character model looks astronomically better in the most recent tech demo. I’m very satisfied with that.
If they can bridge the gap into how she became a Witcher with the reported Witcher 3 dlc coming next year to save that game some exposition dumping I think we could be cooking with gas bois

what was the twitter link? gone now.
He got community noted and tried to blame it on a bad translation. When asked to provide the original transcript for translation, he said he didn't have one.

I'm almost halfway done (chapter 10 of 23) with the new book and so far I'm really enjoying it.
it being a young geralt under the influence of a new mentor does create a fun dynamic we haven't had before.

Still worth $15? I’m trying to decide between pulling the trigger and just waiting for the library to get their digital copies.

Worth it to me just to support the author.
I had an audible credit but figured with the book being 30% off id just buy it and use my credit on something more expensive.

Let’s pretend for a second that I don’t care about the author. Would I find it to be worth $15?

Some interesting answers from the Sapkowski AMA yesterday
LINK
He never meant for there to be multiple witcher schools.

He never meant for there to be multiple witcher schools.
quote:
The video game adaptation added a lot of extra witcher schools compared to the books (school of the viper, school of the bear, school of the manticore). What do you think of them and do you plan to add new ones in the books?
The issue of "witcher schools" requires—I apologise—a longer explanation. A single sentence about some "school of the Wolf" mysteriously made its way into The Last Wish. I later deemed it unworthy of development and narratively incorrect, even detrimental to the plot. Therefore, later I never included or referenced any Witcher Gryffindors or Slytherins again. Never. However, that one sentence was enough. Adaptors, particularly video game people, have clung to the idea with remarkable tenacity and have wonderfully multiplied these "witcher schools." Completely unnecessary.
I'm still uncertain about what to do with this situation. Perhaps, taking the path of least resistance, I'll erase the sentence about the "school" from future editions of The Last Wish. Or maybe I'll want to expand and clarify the matter somehow in subsequent books? Perhaps I'll shed some light on the issue of Witcher medallions, their significance, and their connection to specific individuals? There are many possibilities, and the sky is the limit.
quote:
Hello Mister Sapkowski,
How do gnomes and dwarves live together in Mahakam (especially in the capital)? Do they live in a big city together, or do gnomes have their own place? Or is it one on top, the other below?
No idea. None of the plots I've created required such information, so there hasn't been any, and there probably never will be. To clarify for the future, which would also apply to other questioners: please ask me about what is in the books, not about what is not. If something isn't there, it's for two reasons: a. the reader doesn't need that information because it is not essential to the plot, b. the author intends for that information to remain a secret from the reader. In both cases, as you can probably understand, I won't answer any questions.

That second answer is important, and I’ve reference that attitude before. Sapkowski isn’t Tolkien. Tolkien built a world and then wrote stories around that world. Sapkowski wrote a story and then built a world around it. Sapkowski is the first to tell people that his world is basically window dressing, or at best a Hollywood set. What you see is what was necessary for the plot. If you try to dig down or peak around the set pieces, you’ll find façades with nothing behind them but sticks propping them up. And there’s nothing inherently wrong with that, but people would do well to stop trying to put flesh on the bones. Every time they do, they are mostly engaging in fan fiction.

Sapkowski is such a fricking weirdo
Whoa.
If he were a witness the attorney would be asking for permission to treat him as hostile.
If he didn’t want to talk to the interviewer he could’ve just said no haha.

He was doing an interview for his new book that just came out. I can see why hed be peeved they show up to that to ask about the video games he has no part in making.

I don’t think it’s unfair to ask questions related to the lore of a universe he created and owns the IP to whether it’s for a TV show or video game.
He might not want that responsibility but he owns IP worth billions now across three channels (books, TV & video games), those questions come with the territory.

See the above quote though.
He didnt create a universe or rules or lore. He creates narratives and only builds the world enough to tell the story.

He created the universe and is the sole arbiter of what is or isnt true.
In effect hes the supreme court.
He clearly doesnt care about the universe that deeply so you get what you saw in that interview.

Yeah. Like joshjnr said he isnt tolkien. People need to stop asking about how things work in his universe that he hasnt already covered.

So this person had the chance to ask a renown author a question and that's what they come up with?
