Since we know nothing about the new xbox, I don't know how you can decide between the two. I had a 360 this gen but before that I was PS1 and PS2 supplemented with whatever Nintendo had at the time. I switched over to the 360 this gen because of xbox live.
I'm not worried about exclusives. There are some games on the PS3 I would like to play but I don't have the time to justify another console purchase. IMO Gears of War was an amazing exclusive franchise this past gen but I think all of the other titles I enjoyed were multi-platform releases.
I'm waiting on seeing what the xbox and PS4 have to offer and then I'll decide. I'd probably pick xbox if I perceived the consoles to be equal.

Not sure because the only games annnounced so far have been multiplats, so I'm not sure when I'll get either.
