think Shiels picked up ball speed as well… just not any distance. Ball speed is only half the battle

What is the other half? Because more ball speed literally means more distance

Spin certainly has a lot to do with it!

Spin with a slight nod to launch angle.

If your ball picks up 5mph in speed but launches lower, therefore you have to crank loft, thus resulting in more backspin, it’s going to offset the added ball speed.

The industry shifted from spin to ball speed recently and it’s because they’ve maxed out the tech on low spin. They need new selling points. I expect ball speeds to keep cranking up, but so will spin and thus you’ll have shorter but faster drives.

Spin won’t necessarily increase at higher lofts because of the CG on the head. That was the issue with SLDR back in the day. It was too far forward. Ping has an optimizer chart out, high launch low spin isn’t always correct. It depends a ton on ball speed/AoA. But ball speed=distance

Yep, I saw some good players struggling with the SLDR Driver.

Most guys had to go up to the 11 and 12 degrees models.

That’s what I still play and yep the loft is maxed out… still has a penetrating ball flight.

Hit it and the rogue st.

Stealth is a tad bit longer than the sim2 but mainly because of the roll. It didn’t carry more just rolled more.

Rogue St I was about 6 yards longer than my epic and the stealth. But both are low spin knuckles. If you’re looking for carry you will need to go with a higher launch shaft and higher degree. Both were hit with a ventus black 7x.

I hit it today. I wasn’t overly impressed vs any Sim or Sim2 I’ve hit.

Honestly I haven't seen anything new to make me take my TSI2 out of the bag.
