Driving from the Northshore to Destin for a buddy’s bachelor party in September and a few of us are looking to play a round on the drive in. What are your favorite courses along that route?

Grand Bear, the Preserve, Kiva Dunes, RTJ Magnolia Grove? Any others that are must plays?

All of those are good, although Kiva is pretty far out of the way if you’re going to Destin, not Gulf Shores. I would replace it with Windswept Dines. Good course and price, usually uncrowded, probably less out of the way than Kiva. And you’d be closer to your destination after the round.

There’s plenty of good golf to be played in Destin. I wouldn’t stop along the way to play.

I love the preserve but it's pricey if you don't catch it in twilight and if you play that late you'll be getting into Destin really late.

I would probably want to get a bit closer to Destin so I would suggest The Club at Hidden Creek in Navarre.

If you just want the best course regardless of logistics you could do better but it's on the other side of the tunnel and would leave you guys a much shorter drive into Destin once you're done than anything in Mississippi.

Played here about a month ago. Good course.

Tiger Point, which is probably 10 minutes west of Hidden Creek, was in better condition though.
