Will try to be brief. Most of you probably have never heard of Alpine Golf & CC, but it was a 9 hole course in Tioga build along with a neighborhood many, many years ago. It was ok when at its best, but really started falling off in recent years. It was bought by a new owner not long ago and the clubhouse was moved to a new location.

Anyway, one of the greens is very close to a subdivision road that ends in a cul-de-sac. A wedge shaped piece of property immediately to the left of the green has been for sale for a while. This lot has very little frontage on the road and borders the green and fairway to the left. It sold recently.

The new owner was obviously very confused about what he bought, as he went out and bulldozed the green. The legal ramifications are fascinating.

The realtor did the guy no favors. Look at the pictures in the listing.

So may questions.

Did the baw not get a survey of the property he bought? Seems pretty careless to go out willy nilly with a bulldozer without knowing exactly where your property line ends.

Was the green in such bad shape that it wasn't obviously a green? I mean, the baw had to know he was purchasing property that backed up to the golf course, correct?

ETA: As far as the realtor doing no favors, I've seen lots of homes for sale on my local course that the realtor posts pictures of the view of the course from the property. Par for the course when it comes to golf course properties.

Many home/property listings on golf courses will show pictures of the course especially when the property on a particular hole. This listing seems to be showing the green as part of the property.

However, the green is clearly a green on the golf course. The buyer should know his property boundaries. It looks like he will be paying for a new green.

Congrats to the club! If ever there were a time to revamp the greens, this is it. Shut down the course and bill the guy for lost revenue.

I get what you guys are saying about the listing, but jeez, every pic is of the green One is from up the fairway looking toward the road, and the property for sale can't even be seen.

Anyone who buys a piece of property and assumes they own whatever some realtor put in the pictures is an idiot. Realtors in general, also idiots.

It took me about 2 minutes to go to the assessors website and find the lot. It shows a pretty clear, and what seems to be accurate, boundary. And who goes and starts bulldozing property without having any idea where the boundary corners or limits of construction are.

This guy deserves whatever he gets.

There's no reason to really. Some people still play there. I would not. The disc golf there is awesome though.

I saw a Facebook post about the green being closed, but I no idea the neighboring property owner destroyed it. I thought maybe the new owners had no idea how to maintenance a golf course and screwed it up. Kind of sad what that place has become as me and a group of buddies used to play it all time from high school up until about 4 years ago.

Slice a 3-wood or driver (hook in my case) around the corner and over the ditch and it gives you a gap wedge into the green on a par 5. Saw some pretty amazing drives on that hole. 2nd best par 5 on the course. Original number 1 is the goat. 5 iron lay up or pop up a 3-wood over the corner.

Yeah, back when the greens were full and spongy, I enjoyed it. I overlooked the St. Aug and crabgrass

This drought has basically destroyed what little good there was out there. Now this.

I’m sure property boundaries were included in closing documents as well

Is this the course that's to the right of Timber Trails if you're headed south on Hwy.71? Kinda close to the Grant-Rapides Parish line.

No, I worded that poorly. The location was moved. It's an immovable.
