He drove away customers ready to buy equipment. That’s how I know he was in the wrong.

Next time you want to buy an apple take a bite out of it to make sure it's just ripe enough for your liking. Any sales associate that says you can't is just a dumb a-hole.

You used a new club and let your girlfriend see if she could make contact? If she doesn’t know if she can make contact she has no business swinging any new clubs that aren’t demos.

I would much rather a scratch golfer with a 130mph club head speed hit one of my clubs than your girlfriend who doesn’t know if she can make contact with 80mph of speed.

I’m going to pick it up and inspect it to make sure it isn’t soft

Average swing speed on the PGA tour with a PW is 83 mph. LPGA is 70 mph. She probably wasn’t close to pushing 50. The paper on the club wasn’t even damaged.

I swear y’all are pretending we took this club into the parking lot and hit rocks with it. Aside from all that, it was a top flite beginner set.

1. We didn’t mess anything up
2. We were never going to mess anything up
3. Maybe having a demo club or two available and better customer service they actually would make more money on golf equipment.

You know all of these things though. You’re just trying to be an arse for the sake of being an arse

No one is doing this. You simply have no self-awareness. What you did was wrong. Even if it weren't, it's their store. If you continue to think you were right after this feedback, then you're just a terrible person.

I was right then and I’m still right. Call me whatever you want. What we did was the equivalent of hitting a putter on their putting surface.

Everyone wants to grow the game until someone new wants to play, then instead of helping they act an arse.

Except you weren’t hitting a putter on the putting surface. And no it’s not equivalent.

Should they have a demo club available? Probably, but it’s a left handed girls club. Come on man. Should the hitting bay be open? Yes.

But they didn’t have it available and it wasn’t open. You did it anyway. No matter how you try to slice it, you’re the dickhead. Accept it and move on

It was open. There was no sign indicating otherwise. There were balls and clubs in the bay. The dickhead in this situation made that up because the simulator (that we didn’t need) wasn’t working.

What does this have to do with new nondemo merchandise you decided was fine to go whack balls with?

You’re right man. All I wanted was to swing as hard as I can with brand new clubs and break equipment. I just felt like whacking so I made up a story.

Do you honestly think it’s ok to take clubs off the shelf at a store, go into the simulator and start hitting? You could’ve found a rep and asked first at least. The reaction you got is the exact one I would expect at any store

Ok buddy. Go into dicks and find a “rep”.

I can tell you read zero of the post.

I left the paper on the club just to see if she could make contact with the ball. It was quite literally exactly the same as hitting one of their putters that still had the paper on it. We aren’t talking about 100 mph swing speed damaging a brand new club. I did not expect a fitting type experience. I expected not to be told to go away when trying to buy a product from a store that claims they want to sell a product.

I hate that store as much as the next guy, but bringing a new club into a hitting bay is always wrong.

I quick stop to the counter and asking for demo would be the way to go. Not justifying the $8 an hour employee actions, but you did go to a box store for club advice. Get what you pay for. Edwin Watts has decent selection of used/demo. Go there.
