might have something to do with Covid. As with every course in the country. And its not surprising that a place thats in great shape draws a bigger crowd. I'd be interested to see if electronic tee time booking is the problem. Are humans booking tee times that conflict with whatever computer booking system they use? I always see marshals out and about on the course during weekdays. Are they less active on weekends? Regardless, they do need to be more proactive in hustling up pace of play. I don't blame anyone who is annoyed at spending 5-6 hours for a round. Thats more like charity golf scramble time IMO,where you're really fricking off.

I played Carter plantation yesterday at ten am and I’ve got to admit it gets a lot of play but with CPO we played a round in 4 1/2 hours and we are actually fairly slow golfers. The layout is fantastic and the greens are incredibly good. For me Overall, it was a very good fun round of golf. Another thing I like about Carter, is, you can play the course at about five different lengths If you pick the right length for your game, you are challenged and I have to hit every club in my bag.

It is hot garbage! I moved to Chicago and it’s a different world.

I love the course
I love the range and practice area
I love the design and layout
4.5 hours unless I am on vacation is painful especially when I have to drive almost an hour to get there and an hour home. From Mandeville I can drive to the coast and play one of a half dozen courses for less money and have a much more enjoyable experience.

If I drive up to a new course I haven't played and the parking lot is packed, I kinda know it's gonna be slow. What pissed me off is a twosome, threesomes and the big groups ahead want let em play through. Why don't clubs put twos and twos or two and threes together. If they don't like it, give em their money back, and tell em to frick off. Of course marshalls are the golf police, and if they aint out their, shite goes unmeshed.

Its been a issue for awhile now its almost not even worth trying to play on the weekends out there because you will spend more than half of your day out there. Its the course over booking tee times to make the most money possible which is what they are in business to do. But they are killing the experience and the pace of play. I am shocked it is taking this long for people to really notice it about Carter though.
