I’m a second year player. Last summer, I was finally able to figure out where to place my eye with my irons and see the club through the ball. Execution is not always there but I’m comfortable over the ball though my long irons and hybrids because the club head approach is downward primarily. I can score in the 90s playing with a 3wood off the tee for context on my ability.

With my driver, I can’t figure out where to look/place my eye. Where do you guys place your eye with your driver and is it different than with your irons?

I always look in front of the ball with my irons and look at the back of the ball with my driver.

Just look at the ball. Thinking about it too much you will get in your head.

This. I've played for 25 years and played in college and I've never once thought about where I was looking.

My key has never been a particular place on the ball for each club, but before I start back, I find one dimple, letter, or number that stands out and focus on that through the full swing to the point I see my divot before the head comes up. I find the more narrow the focus the more narrow the misses.

You’re worried about the wrong thing.

Shaping the shot on driver is the most important thing if you ask me. Which will have you focused on the swing. As long as you’re addressing the ball the same way and your swing is consistent you could do it with your eyes closed.
