It goes off gross score, not net for OWGR points. Scheffler wont get T2 points.

I think every tour has that possibility (or a way to advance to another tour)

A way to advance on the PGA tour? Not before LIV.

I know you’re just doing this to troll, but so no one else sees your out of context post, I was saying a way to stay on that specific Tour.

Liv does not have that yet based on Justin Harding’s bump from the Boston field with his last two finishes being 9th and 11th.

I understand, it awards points without accounting for guys are going to play different styles because they start in different positions. Aaron wise has nothing to lose, he's 10 back when he tees off, where as scheffler just needed to protect the lead

True or false, if you are exempt Tour member, you get an advance on earnings?

Ah. I got ya. I completely agree with that. I just misunderstood your post. Scheffler is definitely going to play different than someone that starts at E. The shadow leaderboard getting OWGR points is definitely dumb.

Like I stay up at night worrying about that possibility.

There are a lot of things about LIV that haven't been put out there for public consumption yet. That doesn't mean there isn't a game plan for all this new influx of talent. You may very well be privy to it in the near future.

I know I'm looking forward to Monahan explaining to the world how many of his best golfers continue to miss out on the BIG paying events because guys like Rickie Fowler are getting all the PIP love.

You get $500K, not $50million

It's an advance or not? Really simple question

Really simple answer, it has not gone into effect and no player has received a $500k advance, so the answer to your question is False

You tried to twist the question and still found a way to be wrong. Hate that.

Effective for the upcoming season, TOUR rookies and returning members (from a full Korn Ferry Tour season) will receive a guaranteed $500,000 league minimum up front against their season earnings, as part of the newly announced Earnings Assurance Program

If a player does not reach $500,000 in a season, the player keeps the difference.

(For exempt players not receiving the money up front, the difference up to $500,000 will be paid at season’s end. All eligible players must compete in a minimum of 15 events to maintain program eligibility.)

The tour is also launching an Earnings Assurance Program that will guarantee a minimum salary of $500,000 for fully exempt players. The golfers that receive that salary must compete in at least 15 events to qualify. Rookies and returning members will receive the money at the start of the season.

I’m reading “returning members” as guys like Lingmerth. Not every PGA member on the tour who then returns to the tour the following year.

Meaning the overwhelming majority of players are NOT receiving upfront money.

1. You insinuated every player is getting paid upfront.
2. You are being highly disingenuous comparing the $500,000 upfront to rookies to what LIV is doing.

I’ve read the quotes you just posted and it’s why I’m claiming that

The Tour just did the same exact thing

is wrong af.

Past Champion status.

Along with the fact that he can out drive you and he can shoot in the 60's

Well you're reading it wrong

They get $500k period. Every exempt member. You can choose to get an advance if you are a new member. Not that hard to grasp

Pretty crazy to claim something when you just read that it's wrong.

It’s a good move…gives the young guys a cushion so they don’t have to sweat living expenses but nothing life changing to make them fat and complacent. It will keep the PGA tour as the premier tour for up and coming studs who aren’t attractive enough for LIV to buy out. It’s a sports meritocracy they way it should be.
