Think the Ryder Cup “snub” probably frustrated him as well. Definitely not as big of a name as they probably hoped for (Hatton/Fleetwood) but definitely a solid player.

He doesn't really move the needle as far as interest but it's a quality add as far as making the field more competitive. Definitely was a good add for their team.

Hatton is on the way, per SI.

Hatton had a pretty weak response when asked about it in Dubai last week.
He always made the most sense to join Rahm, just wasn’t sure he would do it.

It says they’re close, but doesn’t necessarily say he’s on the way.
I was moreso talking about that Cleeks team which has absolutely zero juice. Hatton probably would have given them something. Oh well.

Don’t count out Samooja for Cleeks & the Meronk signing makes them a lot stronger team. Those 2 should both be in the Olympics this year too

I don’t really understand LIV’s strategy with keeping it quiet about all the new signings.
4 days till the first tournament of the year & they haven’t officially announced Rahm’s team name, his 3 teammates, final roster spots for Ripper GC, Cleeks GC, or Ironheads GC.
Apparently, they are also planning to play with 54 players - 13 teams of 4(52) and 2 alternates.

You will downvote and get angry and call me names, but I don’t think it’s a strategy. I don’t think they are organized and I don’t thing they actually care about LIV as an actual product. Their goal is paying enough players to leave the tour so they can then get to be a part of main stream golf with a deal with the tour in the future. This version of LIV isn’t important to them. It’s a vessel
As far as organization ask Reauxl. He went to an actual event. He said it felt disheveled and thrown together

Ok. They’ve obviously chosen to remain silent on some things. They announced Matt Jones signing with Ripper, but not Lucas Herbert.
They didn’t hesitate to announce their new partnership with Movistar Plus+ to broadcast in Spain.
Seems like they’re holding up for 1 big announcement this week.

Please. very unbiased opinion coming from someone who’s criticized anything & everything LIV.

Also this weekend will be fun. Strength vs strength
No football, and LIV with its new big money signings goes against an elevated event
Good measuring stick on where they stand as tours

It would not surprise me if they announced their 14th team along with the four PGA players they signed for that team.

Rahm officially announces his team name & roster. Same as leaked. Team colors are Red & Black.
quote:
LIV Golf has announced its first expansion team, Legion XIII, the first new team to join the league since its inception in 2022. Captained by two-time major winner and reigning Masters champion, Jon Rahm, Legion XIII will begin competing at the league’s season-opening event, LIV Golf Mayakoba, teeing off this Friday at El Camaleon Golf Course in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
“We’ve come a long way in a short period of time and are extremely proud of the team and brand we are building,” said Rahm. “As we were developing the team’s brand it became clear that I wanted to fight alongside a group of guys who aligned perfectly with what the team stands for. Tyrrellis a fierce competitor, proven champion, and of course my Ryder Cup teammate. Caleb is one of the brightest next gen stars of the game. And Kieran is a steady, talented ball striker who earned his promotion to LIV and is elevating his game every day.”
“The introduction of Legion XIII is a testament to LIV Golf’s continued growth as our league builds for the long-term,” said LIV Golf Commissioner and CEO Greg Norman. “Jon Rahm is one of the top competitors in the world and his team will make an immediate impact on the league both on and off the golf course. I’m thrilled to welcome his new teammates, Ryder Cup star Tyrrell Hatton and young gun Caleb Surratt, along with LIV Golf Promotions standoutKieran Vincent, who will undoubtedly be great additions to the league. This is another exciting moment in the natural evolution of LIV Golf and the future for the sport.”
