Great Club Builder in Houston passed away.

I was proud to call Mike at Impact Golf on Dairy Ashford my good friend for the past 25 years.
I attended his funeral yesterday, it was packed with family, friends, along with some Astro, NBA and PGA Tour greats.
Really hurts the club building landscape in Houston area. Box stores and over priced high end fitting shops have taken over.
The shop is now for sale if anyone knows someone that may want it.

I didn’t know about that guy until someone on here talked about him. I got my irons bent there last year and did a couple regrips. Quite a few customers came in and he seemed to know everybody. I liked him a lot and was glad to have met him. Sorry to hear he passed away and hope it was a peaceful exit.

Wow that’s sad news. I didn’t know him personally but I’ve been to his shop for re-grips several times over the past 15yrs.
RIP

Mike was a good man, he never met a stranger and he did a lot for junior golf.
He was always donating clubs to First Tee and he spent a lot of his own time helping high school boy & girl golfers and guys on the Mini Tour.
PGA Tour Pro Keith Fergus alway had access to Tour Van's through his career, but he would only let Mike work on his clubs.
