BTW, I am getting I210s with glide wedges. i still have to figure out the wood situation.

It's all a matter of what makes you comfortable and gives you confidence IMO.
I preferred my G425 irons over the X5's. Nothing wrong with the X5's at all, just a matter of choice . Both sets went the same distance and height.
Plenty of majors have been won with game improvement irons.
Chose the clubs that gets you comfortable over the ball.

I hit the Apex really well. I also hit the TM P770s really well. The numbers and the feel were just better personally. Those were my final 3 though. I went back for a second session to hit them too. Got to hit the new irons and they feel like butter

Bought some Ping G410’s today, playing with them on Tuesday…..was told they are same as G425’s and didn’t have to wait 8-10 weeks for build. $100 cheaper that 425’s, got them same day and on launch monitor I hit them the same
ETA- hit g710,425, srxions, apex and mavericks…..425’s and 410’s were best for me
