Why don't the players get ALL of that?

FIFY

Because the PGA Tour as an operation has hundreds of employees that help the players with things like accounting/expenses, logistics and travel, health insurance, amongst other things.

I’m shocked Finau hasn’t taken a cool 80 or so million and joined LIV

He seems like the perfect candidate to do so

Seeing so many golf shots back to back is awesome.

I’ve seen more shots in 5 mins than I would in 30 watching the PGA Tour.

They have to do that because the lower players make almost nothing.
Top players like Phil, have their own planes (or charter) and have their own employees that do the other stuff. And now he's making 3 times the money easily and is GUARANTEED at least 100k for last place (not positive if he collects that since he has contract deal)

Honestly, I could see Tiger going if his leg gets no better and they let him ride a cart, lol

The pearl clutching on the golf channel makes me want to watch these Liv events even more.

So you admit it's the drama, not the golf, that excites you. Glad someone can admit it

I mean it’s kind of funny watching Brandel Chamblee act like a bitch way up on his high horse. Also they are squirming because they are viewing this as a potential existential threat to the PGA tour. I like how uncomfortable they appear. It’s pleasing to me

And I’m watching the event.

I just don't get the outrage. It's the "golf channel", not the "pga channel". Why can't they just talk about another golf tournament being played?

ESPN/sportscenter still covered the CFL, XFL, USFL even though it's not the NFL.

Correct, I was just pointing out that the players shouldn't receive "ALL" the revenues. The Tour does a lot to help up and comers, and that is good for the game. I know a dozen people here in Jax that work for the Tour, and there is a lot that they do for the players.

He's upset his golfing career is over or he would be over there playing and pocketing that $$$.

Because they are in bed with the PGA Tour through their shared sponsors.

If this competitor does actually take off and you see American sponsors latch on to LIV, then Golf Channel will change their tune very quickly.

Wait, you only liked him and his game because he played PGA events?

WTH?

I do understand that the PGA is a great American based product and LIV is Saudi based money.
But put it in perspective. You don't think some top NBA players would play in Europe if they were offered triple or 4x's the money to play there?

DJ has made more money from playing golf than Tiger. I wouldn't count his $125 million as winnings, even though he is winning at life.

It all spends. I noticed the Taylor Made on DJ's hat and Addidas on his shirt. That spends too.

I'm assuming you have to be a Euro resident to play in the European tour? Could the european tour invite these guys to play on it? They play Euro and LIV?

Or is Euro just as pissed as PGA Tour?

Of course they will, its the same reason Soccer players go to Europe or basketball players go to the USA.

This whole butthurt over Americans choosing another tour that pays them money is absurdly American.
