Anthony Kim was talked about more on this board before he came back to golf than after…. Now, you are the only one that brings him up

it’s a bunch of nobodies.
Anthony Kim is one of the most interesting stories in golf. Top5 in both British Open and The Masters. Injured the next year. Insurance policy pays him $10 million for a career ending injury. Sad because he was so fun to watch.
While away from golf he doesn’t even play recreationally. From majors, to zero golf. He becomes addicted to drugs and alcohol.
I thought I’d never get to see him play again because of the insurance policy. LIV offered him more than the policy and he returned to the game. To me this is awesome and compelling.

This, we agree on. I think him eventually turning his life around and making it back to professional golf is a cool story. It's a shame you can't let yourself see the good in that irregardless of where he's playing.
It almost feels like you're jealous of him (eventually) actually doing something successfully with his athletic ability, unlike yourself.

and making it back to professional golf is a cool story
He got asked to join a tour with no real qualifications and finished almost last in every single tournament over multiple years
Dick Bland, a liv golfer, was/is a great sorry. AK isn’t there as it relates to golf. Great he turned his life around? Absolutely. But he just isn’t relevant at all right now in the pro golf world

That’s what he’s doing now.
It took him 2 years after taking what 12 years off? His story isn’t over yet, quit taking your victory lap

He LITERALLY just did that Pride.

You're not wrong about getting asked back. He was offered simply for business reasons with the hope of an ROI on their investment. But he's parlayed that into +/- $950k in 2024, ~$2.1m in 2025. Not too shabby for "finishing almost last in every single tournament over multiple years".
I've given you way more of my time than you deserve. I'll be moving on now. Go hug your kids man. Let LIV out of your dome.

Anthony Kim is not relevant at all to the actual competitive landscape of pro golf. That isn’t my opinion. That’s just the truth It has nothing to do with hating or not hating LIV golf
I’ll ask you and Jim, where do you think his ranking is on DataGolf? I’ll tell yall, it’s in the 800s….
There are quite literally 100s of golfers better and more competitive than him right now that you have never ever heard of

I don’t think he’s even ranked there. Think it caps out at top 500.
He’s #856 on OWGR
Sergio is #499 (142 on DG)
Bubba is #635 (123 on DG)
DJ is #636 (174 on DG)
Phil is #1198 (344 on DG)
Will AK be ranked on DG at some point this year? Probably

Went and watched some on Saturday. They only let in homeowners for that community, members and their guests. It was a really cool event, but there were maybe 300 people there watching that I saw. And the vast majority were people standing in their back yards.
It was really cool being able to get up close and listen to the player-caddy conversations. Got to follow AK for about 7 holes. I will say, he looked the best of the players we watched. He burned several edges on putts, but his ball striking looked pretty good from what I saw.

Where is this getting better ?
He did gain strokes at the Saudi event which is the first time since the Honda in 2012 that he's gained events in a professional event. He and his Artie Lange nose do appear to actually be getting better. Not sure that means he'll be a top 500 player in the world, but he might make a couple mil this season.
As far as SG goes, he gained 0.08 in the Promotions event. It was a very weak field.
I wouldn't exactly say Bjorn Hellgren has been getting better, but he picked a very good time to have a good week of golf.

No thanks.
Happy he is sober and playing golf. Wish him the best. But until he wins, it’s all just a big nothing burger, kinda like his septum.

My god dude, give it a rest. If someone enjoys a Anthony Kim story then let them. Who cares. You are arguing about how it's a non story and you have PGA Tour pros commenting on it.
