I've got zero interest in wanting to do something like that,” Nicklaus said. “I don't care what kind of money they would have thrown at me. My allegiance has been to the PGA Tour. I grew up on the PGA Tour. I helped found the PGA Tour as it is today. My allegiance is there and it's going to stay there.”
Sounds just like the statements of pretty much every guy that went to LIV before they went to LIV

Did LIV ban players from the Ryder Cup? Must have missed that
Which tour has players under contract requiring the events that they must play?
The Ryder Cup isn't officially conducted by the PGA Tour ... The Presidents Cup is. The Ryder is PGA of America but of course the players are based off rankings of the PGA Tour
Go tell your boss you are taking your talents to a competitor (that can't exist without your company developing the talent) but that you want to still keep your company benefits... Tell me what your boss says. The PGA tour has never said that players can't go to the LIV ... Just can't do both.

Oh they are employees. I thought they were free agents who had to compete cuz competitive honesty is utmost.

this is not good for the game.
The PGA is the one banning people.
They are the reason for this.

Show us your math. Thanks
What?
Again with the contrarian angle. It never ends.
Are you really going to sit here and tell us that LIV is going to get some massive media contract and not have commercials and ads?
I think you need to show your math

That's not what you said. You said LIV would need more ads than the Tour without a shred of evidence of that being true. Show me the math you are using to reach that conclusion because when I look at it from the outside the Tour has hundreds of employees, a huge office in Ponte vedra and an archaic bloated structure to maintain so I could contend, with more evidence than you presented, that LIV could operate a much leaner organization therefor needing less ad revenue.
But that's just a contrarian take based in no fact, of course

I didn't say they were employees... They aren't. They are voluntary members that agreed to a set of rules when they joined a professional organization... But like you (me) when we tell our boss that we are going to help a competitor... Yeah same result. LIV only has 8 events... How can they have a conflict yet?

The PGA Tour isn’t paying guaranteed money out to the level of LIV or absurd purses like LIV is either. But LIV isn’t a normal business model either so it’s a waste of time to compare the two.
The issue with ad revenue IMO is it doesn’t benefit a network to strike a deal to broadcast LIV golf without ads. What’s in it for the network at that point? They pay money to LIV to broadcast their events but don’t get paid by companies for commercial ad space during these events? That sounds like a one-sided deal with no return for the networks
That’s why I don’t understand why people blame the PGA for the amount of commercials. The networks control the ad space, not the PGA Tour. The networks pay the PGA what they do for that space.

I said they will need as many ads or PROBABLY more if they expect a contract like the PGA got.

They aren’t getting a huge media contract without completely changing their production. They will have to have commercials and ads. Probably more than the PGA.
Then you said “show your math”
What math? Do you think the PGA is showing commercials for fun? The networks paid them hundreds of millions to show ads.
Multiple people here have said we just need to wait until LIV gets their big media contracts for it all to make sense.
You need to show your math and explain how that doesn’t, for the first time in the history of television, involve advertisements.

LIV is letting their players play in any other events they can/are able to.
Except any events opposite of their events. Convenient how that works.

Well, yes, that's exactly how that contract works. You want to make a point now?

So you disagree with this statement then?

You mean the events they've already been paid to play in?

The LIV tour is made up of mostly middle aged has-beens playing in a complete joke of a format. The game is getting younger and most of them recognize that. I mean how much money does s person need really. You can shite on the PGA Tour all you want but they have given more to charity than all major sports combined. The history, legacy, and fact that players have to earn their pay upsets most because we live in a society that promotes a mentality that I deserve why others get. You idiots can pump this trash all you want but the fact that it’s run by the fricking Saudis and lead by a gambling degenerate and coke head should tell you everything. Rant over.

I like how you have no actual response because everything I said is the truth.

Leagues can dictate the amount of commercials allowable.
And they should once it becomes detrimental to their league.
NFL should try this with MNF because that has become unwatchable.
