Moving to Raleigh NC

Moving to Raleigh next week and I am over joyed by seeing the amount of courses in the area. Almost to a point of overload. Anybody out there able to help suggest some golf courses that are public and not the hotspot for the college scene? I realize will be difficult due to the amount of schools but I’m looking for the Beaver Creeks opposed to the Santa Maria’s of the world. Also any good weekend trips within an hour or two worth scouting out. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you.

Beautiful. Haven’t even checked how far Pinehurst or Tobacco is. Two courses I’ve always wanted to check out.

I’d also recommend Tot Hill Farm near Asheboro. Fantastic track with some really cool and quirky holes.

It’s in Danville VA, so a little bit of a drive, but I’d recommend Goodyear Country Club. Unique track and a good value. It’s right by the Goodyear plant there and I believe at one time it was only for employee use or something
