Let me preface this by saying that I know nothing about golf

I’m looking to take my grandfather (80 years old) to get a new set of irons here in the coming weeks.

I’ve asked around a little bit, and one friend recommended a pxg shop several hours away where he can get fitted (apparently they offer discounts for veterans).

Is pxg as good as you’ll get at a lower price point? Or are we better off saving the drive/hassle (5 hours round trip) and simply order something online cheaper, then have someone local make the alterations necessary?

I have Pxg, but for something super forgiving super large face, the Cleveland’s would be my choice.

Check out Tour Edge.

They make some sets that are mostly hybrids.

Many seniors like hybrids

My dadis 77 and doesn't hit the ball far at all. Got him a set of Callaway hybrid irons and he absolutely loves them.
