If you exclude $ from the FedEx Cup, it’s not close.

If you take away Tiger's 15 majors and 80 tour wins he is on par with Brandel Chamblee. Do you see how ridiculous that sounds?

Give me the Players Championship and TC over a major.

Yes. But it’s one tournament with an inflated prize earnings. I’m saying from a wins standpoint, Rory would take Brooks’ season every time.
Rory legit thought Brooks was going to win player of the year too.

And I’m a huge Rory fan in comparison to Brooks. And if Brooks only had one major, and no wins it’s fine. But he had 3 wins too. And was far better in every single one of the 4 biggest tournaments.

It cool that Rory won this year, when his one and only goal for the year was a complete bust. Just shows how good he is, to take that disappointment and turn it into a Tour Championship

Yes, Brooks was better those 4 tournaments but he only won 1 of them. Rory won the Players and Tour Championship. If you asked he pros if they'd rather a PGA Championship or a Tour/Fedex cup win I'd bet the vast majority would prefer a Tour/Fedex cup win. The money matters, you can't just take that part out.

Rory also led the tour in Total Strokes gained, strokes gained off the tee, and strokes gained tee to green. The only strokes gained catagory Koepka beat Rory in was approaching the green and he beat him by .003 strokes.

Rory had top 10's in 14/19 starts while Koepka had them in 9/21. If you look at the entire body of work I think Rory is the clear winner.

Rory also won the scoring average and Brooks was 4th.
This is traditionally one of the bigger factors on POTY.

If someone wants to explain how he won this over Brooks, I’d greatly appreciate it.
Very simple. It was a vote. Brooks talks about other players. The end.

You think they'd rather the prestige of a major and $2m over the Fedex Cup and $15m?

Give me the fedex cup and the cash every time

You are the only person on the planet with that thought right there.

I do not what those guys would choose, but it's more than the $2m and prestige,
it's,

In line with the other majors, winning the PGA gains privileges that improve career security. PGA champions are automatically invited to play in the other three majors (Masters Tournament, U.S. Open, and The Open Championship) and The Players Championship for the next five years, and are eligible for the PGA Championship for life. They receive membership on the PGA Tour for the following five seasons and on the European Tour for the following seven seasons.

I’d say almost all tour players think the same.which is the entire reason for this debate.

I think both players had a pretty strong case this year but I'll change the topic...

Did you guys see the Rory lunch with Jack Nicklaus when they revealed that he won the Jack Nicklaus POTY award notified directly from the man himself? It was pretty cool.

Rory hits it further off the tee and has the best swing on tour.
