The player who got a Sponsor's exemption in the Sony Open shot 27 over par! 88-79 WOW! I guess Sony a long time sponsor of that tournament vetted this player before granting him the exemption.

Kim (Kaimuki), Akana (Kamehameha) and Larson (Kealakehe) qualified for the PGA Tour's first full-field event of the season through different means. Kim earned his PGA Tour card by finishing second on the Korn Ferry Tour, Akana won November's Sony Open qualifier at Waialae and Larson claimed the 2023 Aloha Section PGA sectional championship.
You're confusing Larson +27 at the Sony Open with Ken Weyand, director of golf at Grove XXIII, the sponsor exemption at the Dubai Invitational.

Course conditions for a PGA section event and a PGA Tour event are not in the same time zone. Far, far different. Having played in both, I know from experience.

So the entire premise of your thread was wrong and when someone points it out your response is to basically say whatever like a little kid would…………..you’re cool

It kind of is actually. The pros on the outside looking in don't regularly do it.

KC8876- You missed my sarcasm in that there was no way this guy was qualified to play in the Sony Open had to be a sponsor excemption.

There is a farmer exemption that is legit.
