This PGA Tour leaderboard is sad

Nothing against the players. They are great players but this is not the best field golf can field.

This is typically what happens before a long stretch or just after a major. The big names take some time off to rest. That is a luxury that they have because they are not told when and where to play.
I doubt many if any LIV players would be playing this week if they were allowed to. You know the whole I want to play less golf, and spend more time with the family thing.

I doubt any LIV players that were solidly in the playoffs would be there this wknd either ( given the opportunity to be at home with their families before the playoffs start
It's not a stellar field and the PGA tour did this by creating the playoffs ( much what I think ..to a degree would happen if CFB expanded beyond what they have now) but the positive. Good stories and experience/confidence come from these events.

This kid who won. ‘Tom’ Kim is a stud!!! Turned pro at 16. He has 3 professional wins. This is his first PGA tour win. Second youngest to win since WWII era. 20 years old.
He’s very very good. Only had 9 PGA tour starts. I know the field is not great. But he’s been playing solid. He bolted up to Top 35 in FedEx Cup standings and will land in the Top 25 in the world.

I've played Sedgefield a few times. Once right after the Wyndham and still in tournament condition.
I'm battling to shoot in the mid 80s.
Amazing how these guys tear that place up. Not the hardest course, but they destroy that course.
