Tommy Armour clubs - good find?

I picked up a set of Tommy Armour 855s irons (3-9 & 60*) at a thrift shop for $16 - excellent shape, good original grips, graphite shafts. I’m a bad golfer and have no illusions that ANY club will make much of a difference in my “game”, but I’ve never heard of the brand. A little research indicates they’re well thought of in the older used club market, but I’m interested to hear some more opinions.

Nice find.
They were good clubs and followed the 845's which was one of the best selling set of irons ever.
855 were a little larger than the 845 and a tad more forgiving.
Enjoy them.

I had a set.
Davis Love played them for a long time.
The 845 was designed by a English Teacher.
The 855 came out at the same time of the King Cobra and the Lynx Parralax.

I played with them last weekend & hit some decent shots but not sure if it was the clubs or just lucky. I had been using some old Callaway Steelhead x-14s, so I guess I need to spend some time with each at the range and see if I can tell a difference.
