Any golf boarders ever play here? Got a tee time Sunday with my boss. Looks like it used to be a Top 100 Public with a good architect pedigree (Hurzdan/Fry)

I’m mosty pumped about bent grass greens and 75° high

Few pics

I played there for a work event a few years ago and man that place was LUSH. It was during the summer around this time so the weather was great.

I’m jealous. You’ll have fun, it’s a nice track!

How quick were the greens? My course has been slow most of the summer. Hope I can adjust

I don’t recall them being very fast but I grew up playing fast bent grass greens at old waverly (they aren’t bent anymore) so I was more familiar playing them.

Bent rolls very pure but can get slow and hairy if they aren’t cut/rolled everyday. I’d imagine they roll around a 9 or 10. Nothing crazy fast

I played it during a company tournament and won longest putt on one of the holes on the back so I had a good putting day.

Let us know how it is. Going to Minnesota next month with a group of golf buddies. We were supposed to play Northwind up in Duluth, but Delta switched our flights and messed up our tee time. We are looking for a place to play within the MSP Airport area the last day before we get on our flight.

Troy Burne lived up to the hype. Place was in immaculate condition. They had cut and rolled the bent greens so they were running about 11. Really subtle breaks but if you read them right, they were really true. The rough was lush and was tough to play longer than a 7 or 8 iron out unless you drew a perfect lie. The corridors are really wide, but the bunkers and rough made it an intimidating driving course. The front 9 plays like a prairie links and the back nine is more parkland style, so there’s a lot of variety. I’d definitely recommend playing there for anyone going up to the Twin Cities area. Play from the right tees. My boss’ sons were long hitters so we played blacks. I’d def move up a box if I went again. People and facilities are both really nice. Carts had gps units and we saw the bev cart every 3 holes or so. Is there a way to post pics from your camera roll? I took a bunch but I don’t feel like uploading them first.

Crazy to think that Troy probably isn’t a top 10 public in Wisconsin, but it would be the best course in Lousiana, pubic or private and it wouldn’t be particularly close
