You're not even talking about strokes gained as a stat anymore. The concept is so simple it's cringey to be so proud of yourself for understanding the it. Now you're talking about what guys are monitoring while playing a round.
This thread is probably the worst look of anything I've seen on this board in a while. I saw you getting a little douchey about in the msb thread. Not sure who advised you to double down on here, but fire them.

Strokes gained only matters within the context of either the hole par category or the type of shot (driving, approach, putting) so they can see what areas of their game are doing well / poorly. I like to track fairways, greens, number of putts and length of putts made and that will tell you more about your game than anything...especially if you add more complexity on top of that like calculating green side save% for short game.

In any material sense this is absolutely incorrect almost every time.
So, a par 5 that has historically played to a stroke average of 4.7 will also play that same with a 50 mph headwind in 20* temps in the pouring rain?

Did you pick up the course and move it? Golf wouldn't be played in those conditions. I can caveat any statistic, but that doesnt make it any less stupid.

I agree, sad that so many people can't understand it.

I didn't bring it up, those other retards did. They're wrong, I showed them they're wrong, pretty simple.

You mean the one where a posters said Rose was putting great while objectively putting below average? Then He doubled down and said there's no way he could have positive strokes gained because his proximity was too far. Certified retard, not my fault

You literally said:

Absolutely not true, if you know a par 5 is playing 4.2 and you make par, you know you lost stokes to the field.
Idiot.

The general point in that thread was that if Rose hits it to 80 feet all day and finishes with 39 putts, he isn't walking off the course saying his putting failed him.

There are only 2 stars that matter to pro golfers
1) Wins
2) Paycheck
If you think anything different, you’ve never met a pro golfer, are legit retarded, and/or trolling with great effect.

I thought we'd have at least a few posters here that understand 11/14 fairways doesn't mean anything meaningful, but evidently not.
Do you ever stop to wonder: why does this always happen to me?

It's a South Louisiana based message board, I should remember the average IQ is about 13.

Tell me about your buddies and their love of being statistical leaders more than cashing paychecks.

Did I say that? They all know exactly where they rank off the tee, approach, on and around the greens though.
Im sure you get a lot of pro play out at your Thursday $5 games out at the laffyette muni
