Get kettlebells and thank me later. Probably helped me build the most overall strength. Keep hammering creatine and protein.

I'll throw in my plug for Fitness Culture. $50/mo. It's maybe a little more than basic, but it is scalable and no movements are too complicated. The also app gives coaching video/instruction.
App shows daily workouts that can be scaled based on time available - 90/60/30 mins. Workouts are intentional and build each week. App allows you to track weights for each movement to keep progressing.
Been following it for 4 months now with great improvements. Bench max went up 30lbs since July. They offer 10 different programs. I am running the Lean program.
Highly recommend.

Barbell and plates are superior.

Can you just edit what he posted as far as lift, sets, reps? Paralysis by analysis for some.
no, just pick one of the damn programs i put in there and run it. buy the program and run it or go look in the greyskull thread, i laid it all out there.
its not just sets and reps, its progression model.

As others have said on here, Greyskull is fantastic. I needed a little more simplicity and wanted to get back to the basics a little more while also incorporating some running and higher intensity stuff. I went back to Greyskull LP, bought the 3rd edition book.
I have been doing the version LSU777 has for the added volume. I do the Boring but Big set/rep scheme after my main lift of the day. shite is great! 3 days a week, can be done in around 45 min, my lifts are progressing and during yesterday's workout I felt as strong as ever and I'm 47 years old. Give it a good look.

)I've never really worked out and don't have anyone to go to the gym with me and help/make sure I am training correctly
Lots of good training plans in here, I'd also recommend dropping $50 or so on a form check session with a trainer. A ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure as the saying goes.
You can post form check videos online, but imo there's nothing like that direct feedback and feeling proper form in the moment
