The stock market, outside of brief periods, has consistently outpaced inflation, even in the Biden era. The S&P 500 has been getting 10-20%+ returns since 2020, so I'm pretty confident that 401ks aren't the problem.
Now, if your 401k was all bonds, inflation would suck. Or if you wanted to talk about wage growth being outpaced, you might have a better point. But right now, 401ks are one of the main things helping people keep up with inflation, so I don't know what point you're making:dunno:
