Thing is though, AI development is actually outpacing Moore's "Law." AI capability doubles every 3 to 6 months, instead of every 2 years. Within even 5 years from now AI is going to be so much further advanced than it is right now that what we see currently will look like Atari's Pong.

A bit of pushback here, Moore's Law is expected to cease before the end of the decade & has been considerably more difficult to reach since the late 2000s. We're similarly starting to reach some of the limits with AI & seeing a pivot into different strategies.

AI also has more resources being thrown at it than anything short of WWII, if the bubble pops we'll likely see that investment & the corresponding pace of improvement decline.

6'7" 210lb Rodman?? That Rodman?

Lebron would bully his arse and no amount of 90s grit & downvotes (with no comment) will change that fact.

A $48 BILLION BILL TO SAFELY GET FENCES TO AND FROM GAMES

Surely this line in particular is bullshite. Is the entire U.S. fencing industry worth $48 billion? :rotflmao:

things today just all look and have the same feelings and features.. The average housing all looks the same, cars all look the same, music, other than different genres, is all the same, television is all the same shite, movies and entertainment is pretty much the same... Fast food restaurants all look the same.

From a business standpoint, have "best practices" always been such a thing?? It seems like there's so much pressure & scrutiny these days to use "best practices." There's little room for creativity

Yes, even the colleges themselves often offer a free syllabus search where you can see the learning framework, see which books are being used etc. And you can often get the textbook for free from the library system or online.

What college does is allow you some special networking. You can shake hands & have professor fancypants vouch for you. That will open a lot more doors than your degree. How much is that worth though?? 200k? 20k? Hard to say
I'd put him above Seve, but then I'm too young to have seen Seve play.

Just for debate I'll also throw in Harry Vardon - 7 majors & 49 total wins.

couldn't we say the same about Nicolaus or any other older former champions?

Not really, Jack made the cut in 22/35 majors AFTER turning 50, including top 10s at the Masters in his age 50 & 58 seasons. Watson almost won the Open in his 60s.

Now, TBF had Tiger not had the wrecks and the "issues" he could probably go out & do it too

I dont, sorry try again. :dunno:
I'd add "pride before a fall" to anyone actively antagonizing cops thinking they're not going to have a bad time

but it’s just absurd to act like nobody cares about it.

I think it's more that people don't take it seriously. The business model had a lot of "yeah this doesn't work in a normal market so we're just going to throw loony amounts of money at it." The foreign tournies are nice, but spend that much money and you better end up with something nice:dunno:

Couple that with taking away great players in the prime of their tour careers and it's easy to see why people don't like it imo.

If we starve out a nation that has nuclear capability, then what do they have to lose by striking?

I think this is a good question, my answer is, of course, mutually assured destruction, but also that they'd lose everything else that could've possibly been negotiated BEFORE going nuclear.
Wanna put that to the test brother??

Go piss off cops & see how it takes for them to cook up some charges if they're really looking

re: Rory’s up there now.

Curious what others think, but imo Rory is the greatest ever at driving the ball. He's been dominant his whole career, even now 15 years later in an era of speed training & athletes.

Jack might be the only other combination of power & accuracy. Tiger had the power, but wasn't nearly as accurate as these guys
Has LIV existed and will it ever exist as something other than "paying more for less"? It mostly seems like it's an intellectual exercise for forum posters trying to justify its existence.

The poster above me said it best. Golf is more about the tournaments than the players. And for me, it's the history, the legacy building that tournaments do for players.

I don't really care about seeing Jon Rahm win 100 tournaments if it's the nobody invitational. But look at Rose yesterday. Had he won, that 2nd major would have completely lifted his career. Even the regular tournaments...nobody cares about Bryson's LIV wins, but if he wins 3-4 a year on the PGA and gets 20-30 career wins, he's a huge legend.

I'm just here for the regular season, looks like it'll be a banger.

The playoffs are a hard sell after the 104 win Braves lost to the shitty wild card Phillies a few years back.

If you repeatedly antagonize a cop, the law allows him to kick your shite in, among other things.

If you repeatedly verbally harass the cops, they're just supposed to stand there & take it indefinitely??

The problem is that you can't claim a copyright on songs that you didn't write.

Sort've, you can still generally copyright your recorded track (your personal voice singing etc.) and you can copyright your arrangement of the original.

I.e. I can't copyright "Rocky Top" but I can arrange it for 4 saxophones & copywrite that arrangement.

And no grand slam…..

Tom has 8 majors & like an extra dozen wins. That exceeds the slam by a good bit imo, but when Rory hangs it up, they will probably be in the same tier.

Rory would still need a big surge to reach the next level, which is consensus all timers like Hogan, Palmer (a LOT more regular wins), Snead (see above), Hagen, and Player.
