I have bursitis in my right elbow. It feels spongy when I touch it. Has anyone ever had this? What was the treatment?

Yes, and mine got infected, presumably from a small scrape that allowed in bacteria from my skin. Antibiotics and rest. In your case, probably just rest. They could conceivably aspirate the area if the fluid build up was substantial, but then you run the risk of infection.
