Finally Entered A 5K

Around the time COVID hit and I was allowed to work from home, I started mixing jogging into my morning walks. The goal of the jogs was to jog 5K and then walk for the remainder of an hour. I never considered my times fast - my weight is under control but I am old. Like, voted for Reagan old.
Anyway, someone I see on the walking trail suggested I go to a 5K near here that was held yesterday. I went ahead and signed up and it was fun and a learning experience. I managed to get a sub-26 minute time. I’m sure that’s slow for most here but it was a great time for me.
I would encourage anyone considering entering any kind of event like this to sign up - don’t let the fear of the unknown stop you!

That's faster than 9 min/mile pace. Nothing wrong with that. Nice work.

I have my eyes on a Turkey Trot thing the week of Thanksgiving.

This is how it all starts... Next its a 10k or a 10 miler and then BAM a marathon! It's all fun and games until you are out there running 26.2 miles on a Sunday lol.
