There is no other unprocessed food diet in the world that has no fiber in it other than carnivore.

There are a litany of fruits that have very little to no fiber. That isn't carnivore.
You can incorporate foods from Mediterranean diet that have very little to no fiber. that isn't carnivore either. This carnivore obsession is weird on here. If you are having bloating, gas, gut issues, bowel issues, or inflammation issues the answer isn't to go eat a bunch of fiber or use fiber supplements. That won't help the actual root cause of your problem(s).

Everyone knows SAD is bad. I said SAD has given us these ridiculous fiber recommendations as a by product.

I don't care what you agree with or don't agree with. Fiber recommendations are a joke and a by product of how unhealthy Americans are as a whole.

This may or may not be true, people have asked you to support it, to this point, you have not

What will I gain that I already don't have by cramming my face with fiber? How will this make my waist smaller, my shoulders bigger, my cardiovascular system and immune system stronger? frick lets all just start eating 200 grams of fiber a day and nothing else I'd be the healthiest person on earth according to you.

5'7 Mingo I have explained this over and over why this is so and how we as Americans got on this fiber recommendation in the first place. Its as worthless as the food pyramid.

So moving the goalposts again? Because earlier you said, and I quote
quote:

Cut out the processed and artificial foods and you won’t need or benefit from a single gram of fiber.

Look, I get your overall point and I wholeheartedly agree that everyone should eliminate all processed foods. But it just isn’t realistic on a population level at this point. People as a whole are just so uneducated. Telling people to track protein and fiber is a huge way to point them in the direction of unprocessed foods. And you get the added benefits of increased satiety and better digestion from fiber.

We are arguing the same thing. You are just shifting around and going to extremes to try to avoid fiber. And if you’re carnivore and it works for you, great. It can’t and won’t work for everyone. That’s where fiber is beneficial.

Enjoy your day

Protein does the same thing. No fiber necessary.

Tbh I would eliminate the meat. Too many carcinogens in the chemicals used to produce. Substitute with 2 more boxes of fiber one bars

Good idea. I think I may do a 7 day “fiber one” fast.

They make a variety of products so I’ll be getting massive nutritional benefits while also satisfying my sweet tooth.

He said, "If you are getting 175 grams of protein a day, the quality does not matter. You met your needs at 60-70 grams of protein, and I think you are converting the rest to carbs."

What "needs" is he talking about? Survival? Being super lean with little muscle mass?

And, so far, I have yet to find a study in the show notes that would back up a claim that the body can only use 70 grams of protein.

If it is there, point to it someone. Let's review the study.

Until then, this is just one guy's opinion and should be taken with a grain of salt.

I have two dietary targets: protein goal and fiber goal. My other guideline is to have at least one serving per day of a fermented food. It can be anything from kombucha, to kefir, to kimchee. Oh, and nothing processed.

Carbs are irrelevant to me based off my running schedule.

That's weird because I'm seeing a lot of people in this thread get reaaallllly pissed about this guy's claim.

Do I believe it? No. Am I sure he's wrong? Also, no.

The guy is a PhD and isn't shitting out erroneous numbers. I think it's a matter of disagreement.

I know that I feel way better on 150+ grams of protein. That's all I know.

Explain to me as someone who has no inflammation, doesn’t eat processed foods, doesn’t introduce artificial sweeteners, flavors, preservatives, etc to my gut needs or will benefit from 30 grams of fiber a day? I have no bloating, gas, or bowel issues eating a diet comprised of mostly meat. So, I’ll ask again what benefits will I see introducing fiber to my diet?

This is exactly my deal as well. I injest zero fiber and have no gut issues. I feel great...what am I missing?

Start Here

Lots of good information in here. As I stated earlier, I truly believe that gut health will be the next area of understanding in health. Dietary fiber along with eating live fermented foods will prove to be impactful to a wide array of health outcomes.
